With the wheels being two different colors, it looks like someone lost a couple of them and had to get them replaced. Otherwise, though, I do like the sparkly clear plastic used in the wheels and the flames.

Regarding in-game status - E3 variants, in the past, have never been in-game. The only exception was Riot Shield Shredder, and he was later available through other means. So, I doubt it's in-game, but if it is, we'll probably be seeing a more widespread release later.

It's because they were chrome kind of variant. And every chrome variants were not in-game variants. We'll see if this car is a in-game variant. I'm pretty sure it is thought.

Doubt it.

I think they will make a Spitfire's variant with a similar color scheme, so it would go along with the Hot Streak's one, but I'm also confident it's the CHARACTER that supercharges the vehicle, not a specific Skylander variant.

They would make variants "mandatory" in some way, and that would definitely not be a good move.

Activision would make a lot of people upset if they put an in-game variant that only a few select people could get their hands on. I didn't keep up with the traps, so I'm not sure about Riot Shield Shredder. There were reports of a few people finding them at GameStop, so I wonder if there was some mix-up or confusion on how it was supposed to be released. All other E3 variants were just paint scheme variants...not in-game.

The GameStop/EB managers that attended last year's GameStop/EB expo got the E3 variant Riot Shield Shredder traps as part of their swag. Some managers either didn't realize what that trap was or didn't care for it and either put it up for sale in their stores (which wouldn't actually allow customers to buy it since the E3 barcode wouldn't ring up) or just gave it to staff/fans/etc. I'm glad to hear that you managed to get one without paying through the nose, but yours is a far from typical experience. The only way to get the Riot Shield Shredder variant outside of going to E3 (or knowing someone who did, eBay, etc.) was to pick up one of the ones given out internationally as preorder bonuses for Trap Team. I ended up eBaying one of the UK/EU ones when they got cheap enough, but that's not guaranteed to happen here.

I honestly think that Activision should stick to releasing only non-in-game variants at E3 unless they're specifically going to give other fans the opportunity to buy the same thing later one. There are far more in-game completionists than absolute completionists and producing something that only a few hundred or few thousand people will be able to get their hands on is just bad form. If they want to make in-game variants available there, they should put a special E3 logo or something on them then release a "regular" in-game variant version and have both appear the same in-game. That way you satisfy both those who can get to E3 or are willing to spend the big bucks to pick up the E3-exclusive swag as well as those who just want a complete collection.
