Just me but I hope not. I'd be forces to get the dark edition but the standard blue car looks nice.

Maybe variant starter pack? Or variant vehicle starter pack with Spitfire?

I really hope Stormblade and the Sky Slicer get chosen to appear in the Dark Edition Starter Pack.

I'm really wondering if the starters will be sold on their own. With the "Digital Copy", if you download that, you'll be without the starters otherwise.

It seems implied to me that they may toy with online purchases, since there's a small contingent of customers that REALLY DON'T WANT a new portal. This helps with them getting patches and new stuff in, so I say go for it. I really hope they cool it with the zillion variants like darks, nitros etc. I'm over that stuff now.

^There's only been 4 continued types of Variants: Legendary, Dark, Nitro, and Enchanted. Maybe 5 if you count Lightcores. But I see what you're saying, with stuff like Gnarly, Scarlet, Punch, etc. I honestly would like at least one Dark and/or Legendary Skylander, but they're always super expensive.

^ I wouldn't include Enchanted. There are only two Enchanted Skylanders in total, both from Swap Force.

Having a dark element and a dark starter pack with figures that are dark, but not dark element is going to be confusing. Of course, they pulled it off in TT. Perhaps keeping the dark edition to limited quantities may be the key. It would be better, I think to come up with some other name for a alternative starter pack.

Because this is equivalent to 9 characters counting the vehicles. There could be 2 or 3 skylanders and 2 or 3 vehicles max.

They've already had the ones for Swap Force and Trap Team. I think it's about time that they decided to stop making more Dark Edition Starter Packs ever since the Dark element is revealed.

Well, given what appears to be a VERY SCALED BACK YEAR, I don't expect a lot of variants this year. I'd guess 30-40% may end up between a legandary, dark or other crazy variant. I hope they also chill it with the Feb-April seasonal crap.

It wasn't really, It was a normal starter pack that came with a voucher for a free prize and they called it the legendary starter pack

As confusing as it would be I am still hoping for a Dark Pack. I really enjoy how sleek certain characters look in the black and silver scheme.

Yeah we never got a Legendary Starter Pack, what is being referred to is a normal Trap Team Starter Pack that at ToysRUs had a yellow sticker on it saying:

"Legendary Treasure
Everyone is a winner

Instantly Win
Free Skylanders
Toys and
Accessories!"

(but will all annoying capital letters)

and yup, it included a voucher for a free skylander item (single, adventure pack) are what we received.

I got a coupon for a free trap. ;)

It was nothing exciting, but, as I said, it was *technically* the Legendary Starter Pack.
