No, the gimmicks have had their time to shine, now it is the turn of the new gimmicks.
VV have already exercised this by refusing to repose giants.

Activision at one point of my many readings of articles have stated that "guest skylanders" are one and done. "Guest" should spell this out concretely to just about anyone of any intelligence.
