Do any of you guys want A Hero's Tail and the other original games in one disc?

Asking if people want a collection. Sorry for not being clear!

It would just be nice to have one disc with several games on it.

I'd buy the heck out of that.

We'll never know unless we give the collection a chance.

We can't give the collection a chance; it doesn't exist. Topics like this have existed before and it's been stated a lot by countless users that we would all love a collection of the older games to play. Whether that happens or not isn't up to us, though, and is (so far) pretty unlikely.

A...an HD cl-classic spyro disc with the original trilogy on it? B..Blu-ray?

If that happens, bury me six feet under, because I would have died of a heart attack.

This is true, but you've got to take note that the games which are collected were all PS2 games. The reason for this is because it's actually possible and not too expensive to port a PS2 game over to the PS3. This is not possible for PS1 games. In order to make a collection like that, the games would have to be 100% rebuilt from scratch. It's an expensive process and this is why it's never been done (the closest we ever got was an anniversary remake for games like Tomb Raider and Silent Hill, both of which are vastly more popular than Spyro). This is why it's very unlikely to happen; ActiVision isn't interested in cashing in on nostalgia when what they have going right now is vastly more lucrative.

As for the PS2 Spyro games, well... To be frank, even though we fans may like them, they almost killed the entire franchise. Those are never going to be put into a collection of any sort.

If the planets align and a literal miracle happens, we might someday, maybe, but very unlikely, see a remake of the Insomniac trilogy as a collection. But it's really unlikely. Universal doesn't own the rights anymore, Insomniac isn't interested, and ActiVision (who does own the franchise rights) doesn't care.

You're not alone in that, either. I haven't bought a game new in years, but I'd do it in a heartbeat if they remade the iSpyro games, even if they did it in Skylanders style (perhaps especially if they did that because it would be hilarious to see all the butthurt going around :D). There just isn't much, or any, chance of it happening and the likelihood gets smaller as each year goes by.

Well don't lose hope Razz. They may not be able to make it now, but there is always hope that it will be made in the future.
We'll just have to wait and see.

It's sweet of you to say that, but you can't lose a hope that never existed. I'm old enough and aware of the industry enough that I don't have hope for this to be a thing. It'd be nice and I'd get excited if it did happen, but the thought of it not happening doesn't keep me awake at nights. As of now, I literally don't care. I'd buy it if it happened, but I'm not going to concern myself with a hypothetical, unlikely scenario. Life's too short and I ain't got time for that. XD

Now Razz i don't mean to waste your time, but not all of the original games were PS1 classics. Enter The Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail were PS2 games. So how about this. Since PS1s won't work they could just put the PS2 games into one disc.

That would be nice, but nobody wants those games on one disc. I like AHT well enough, but EtD was so bad it nearly nuked the entire franchise. And neither game ever did well enough in sales or with critics to be considered a PS2 classic worth remastering. The only Spyro games that could be considered for this, realistically, would be the Insomniac trilogy and I've mentioned above why it's not likely they will ever be remade.

This is all a nice idea and one all of us as Spyro fans have had for years, but nobody is going to be spending time hoping for something that isn't at all likely to happen for a number of reasons.

Well, i would. For you,me,and all the other Spyro fans.

It may be hard to do, but it is worth a shot.
