Couldn't we have just used the all-purpose topic to begin with?

I won't because I'm too lazy to download the demo.

I managed to get an hour or so with the game.
It's really fun no doubt, and I never thought it wouldn't be. The Roller seems OP in Turf War, and even the Charger to a smaller extent, and I could see that making the mode boring after a while. But it is what it is, it was fun. However, unless I find a similar deal to the one I found for Mario Party 10 in Argos, I am not buying this game on or near launch. The knowledge that I have played and gotten familiar with two (three if you count the tutorial stage - it's a sectioned off version of an actual multiplayer map) of the five maps this game has at launch is just really off putting. Also, there is one huge flaw in the game - lack of voice chat. Yeah yeah, I know what some of you are thinking "OH BUT THE GAME DOESN'T REALLY NEED IT", but honestly, it really does, and I can say that with certainty after playing the game. There were too many occasions where I wanted to tell my team mates something but I just couldn't. Without voice chat, victory comes down to which team has the most amount of players that are actually paying attention to the map on the GamePad and remembering that you CAN use Super Jump at ANY time, not just when you respawn. Yeah you have those little messages you can send but in a game this chaotic I don't want to have to go out of may way to press them, nor are they noticeable enough or detailed enough for what I often want to say. At the end of the day, voice chat is just more convenient and would really help this game be a team based shooter, as opposed to a mindless one where you are arbitrarily placed on a team. Before the Splatoon Direct I would have said "oh well I'll just form a party with my friends and play with them most of the time and talk on Skype", but that isn't even gonna be available until August. So yeah, this game really needs voice chat. There is no acceptable excuse either since the Wii U GamePad has a built in mic and headphone jack. Having voice chat would be great because not only could you co-ordinate, making the game more intelligent as a whole, but you could pick up tactics from one another and incorporate them into your personal performance.

Hell, even just markers you can temporarily place on the map similar to League Of Legends would've been a better solution to no voice chat at all.
