I know you're not the only one. =] I'm just not one of them.

I don't completely hate TLoS, I just think the original games are way better and they shouldn't have done a reboot. But that's just me.

Myself, I think that both game series are good in their own right.

The main point about the original serie is that it's got, from the start, its peak with the Insomniac serie wherever the Legend of serie is only starting ; the first game was basically an experiment, the second one was slightly better but still way too short... and only the third is starting to shape up into something that is more worthy (although I prefer the second LoS title).

Although nostalgia means that the new Spyro may never equal the old ones even if just due to subjective views, I still believe that both settings have potential.

The new-school bashers should accept that the Spyro franchise, like any franchise, is ever-changing. The old-school bashers should accept that the new Spyro serie is not perfect and although good in its own rights, could learn lessons from its predecessor.

I don't think more breath types makes a game good. And the story's not that great.... Plus, I buy games to play them, not to watch a movie.

You cannot run away from a weakness; you must sometimes fight it out or perish. And if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?

Yeah, if they could find a middle ground where all the fans would be happy, that would be great.

Unfortunately, the originals and the new games are very different, so it would probably be difficult for the developers to combine them properly. For one thing, they have completely different feels to them: the originals are upbeat and exploration-based, while the new games are darker and linear/story-based.

This really would be the ideal situation for the Spyro fanbase, but I can't see the developers liking the idea. It would be a bit complicated having two separate timelines under the same name, and it would definitely confuse people who are new to Spyro. That's one reason why I think TLoS should have just come up with a new name for its dragon character, but they wanted the name "Spyro" so they could sell more copies.

Like I said, though, that would be cool if it could happen.

i like both but i like TLOS series better though. i'm not saying the orginals r bad or anything, but like DarkCynder_27 said smilie can only breathe fire, like all other dragons. and smilie can breathe fire, electircity, ice and earth. and a real new one, conxeity. and smilie can propaly fly. also, u get to play as cynder in DOTD.... bla bla bla..ya ya ya...

so, i think TLOS series is better. but the originals still rock!!

Originals were good IMO. ANB was also nice, and I enjoyed it despite its lack-of difficulty. It was a nice way to kill a couple of hours if I was bored. TEN was so-so, it was really repetitive (essentially no major changes from ANB in terms of combat) but I did like the slightly amped-up difficulty (oh, and TEN GBA knocked my socks off). DotD was just PHAILED. Only Shadow Legacy and Fusion (and sort-of ETD) were worse in my opinion.

The problem with Sierra is simple: whenever a developer actually shows real potential as good game makers, they trash 'em. Digital Eclipse had made three solid Spyro GBA games and then out of the blue they get replaced by... Amaze Entertainment?! And when Amaze suddenly comes out with TEN GBA, and it's actually KICKASS, they get rid of them too and go with Tantulus or whatever it's called. And then after Krome does a decent job rebooting Spyro with two LoS games, Sierra randomly switched to this development team I'd doubt anybody here would have known prior to DotD.

Case in point, Sierra should try STICKING with a developer. Honestly, they've used way too many developers. =_=

I like both. But the originals its better then TLOS. TLOS would of been a great game if it wernt for that anoying button mashing. It was also short. Those are the only resons why I don't really like TLOS. Not saying that I really hate TLOS, its just not my fav game.

HIR, I find DOTD better than ANB and TEN (Though DOTD does have faults that ANB and TEN didn't have) But I think Estranges Lullibies or whatever their called really screwed up the story. Krome could've done much better there.

Eh, whatever. I personally liked ANB the best, TEN second best and thought DotD phailed. <.<;
