The cold, freezing wind blew in your face, threatening to take your life. Searching for a Safe Haven, looking for warmth and protection. A place to escape the chilling wind. Snow up to your waist, sun completely blocked off, white beyond your view of sight. You feel yourself slipping away, painfully close to exiting this world. The cold feeling has started to be replaced by a feeling of numbness. You realize you're done for. You fall to your knees, the snow now up to your neck, your tired eyes threatening to close forever. Right as you see darkness surround you, a lone figure comes into your view of sight. Before you could say anything or hear what the figure was saying, you slip into unconsciousness.
You suddenly open your eyes, blinding light shining down on you. You block the light with your hand and sit up. You notice that you're weak and that you could barley get up by yourself. You look around to see that you're in a small room. You brush your finger tips on the silky fabric of the bed. Over to your right, you see a black wooden door with a golden lock on it. To your left, a window, but something seems strange about it. You carefully stand and slowly and painfully, make your way to the window. Outside, was luscious green grass as far as the eye could see. Animals, such as deer, rabbits, and birds, frolic around carelessly. Your mind races, you could not think of the last time you've ever seen grass, let alone domesticated animals. Ever since the Deep Freeze.

The Deep Freeze was the next Ice Age to happen on Earth. It all started in the year 2013, when the snow and bitter cold continued on from the Winter season and never stopped. The sun was blocked and thus the snow couldn't melt fast enough and began to build up and create world wide chaos. The governments in the countries were broken, all hell breaking loose. That was many centuries ago, and now Earth is but a frozen wasteland. Many made the travel to new facilities, called "Safe Havens." They were powered by incredibly strong generators. The generators were guaranteed not to lose power for a few centuries and the Havens were built tight and strong to withstand the wind and snow. Unfortunately, many were run by selfish people and forced others to pay to stay there. Because of this, many froze to death with no hope left. There are a few that are generous and allow anyone to live in them. The biggest Safe Haven was Herix, located about in the middle of were Texas used to be. You woke up in Volment, a small Safe Haven which is located in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Your mission is to survive. You should team up with others to survive these tough times. Food is scarce. The Safe Havens have plenty of food, but it is not endless. After it is all gone, you must either journey to other Safe Havens to get food, or find it yourself. Beware, as outside there are creatures who also need to survive. They have evolved and their main source of food is foolish humans who journey too far into the cold.

- NO OTHER BEINGS OR DRAGONS OR HALF BLOODS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. NORMAL HUMANS.

- Remember, it is frostbittingly cold outside and you can't just go from inside to outside, you have to be dressed appropriately.
- This is the future so I will allow somewhat futuristic weapons. However, nothing like Psycho Pass guns or things like that, more simplistic weapons.

Name: Kassandra
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Weapon: Swiss army knife spear and plasma pistol.
Personality: She is usually quiet, but is very open to young kids. She is a gentle person but when needed it stone cold and tough.
Appearance: Is an inch or two shorter then average height but is slim. She has a skin disorder known as vitiligo which causes her tanner skin to have several large blotches of white skin. She has large ringlet chocolate brown hair and crystal blue eyes. She is well determined to stay fit and has a well toned body. She has a shorter torso but longer legs allowing her great flexability and agility.
History: Her father was the only family she knew. Her mother died giving birth and her brothers had all been stripped from her at a young age. Her father had managed to find a small cave where he raised her, sheilded by a door of snow, from the winds. The fire that he kept going allowed a warmer environment. They raised smaller live stock to provide meager meals. The fire was kept going by her fathers constant mining into the earth for coal and other burnable items. Eventually though, their food ran out and as a last attempt her father went outside the cave, to hunt, but he never came home. She was alone at 16 and didnt know what she was going to do. She managed to make articles of clothing to keep her warm, using the skins of the dead livestock that had piled up and took her last pet with her. A dwarfed snow lamb which she kept in a basket fastened from extra hide. She made the treck out into the cold wilderness on her 19th birthday. She made it farther then she thought but the cold was to much and if the stranger hadnt of showed up she would have died the same fate as her father.
Other: Her dwarfed lamb survived and his name is stuffing because it looks like pillow stuffing.

Weapon: Spear that was handed down through his family.
Personality: Henry is nice and levelheaded. He is a tactical genius and he is open to anyone. However, if threatened, he will not be afraid to kill. His friends used to bully him, but they found out he cares for others, willing to risk his life for the ones he loves.
Appearence:
Henry also wears a shirt that has Oswald the Lucky Rabbit on it. He also sometimes has a baseball hat on.

Back story: Henry was orphaned at age 6. He lived in a coal factory, so he had heat. However, when the factory broke down, he left at age 18. This made Henry put his skills to the test, and he is looking for a home. He also took his family spear, which he had trained with all his life. He has fought bandits before, and the cold has whipped him into a warrior. He was known in his factory as "Henry the nerd." His real reason for leaving was to find his best friend. I wonder where she is....

Weapon: A high powered gun with a blade attached to the barrel
Personality: TBH there personalities are shaped through the rp, but for an overview, Gryffin is a kind soul who runs the Volment Safe Haven almost completely by himself. Since it is such a small Haven, there aren't many people who stay. Other than 2-3 other people, he is often alone in the Safe Haven and tends to over work himself into exhaustion. He doesn't care about his own health and does all he can do for his guests. He could be seen as the stereotypical do-gooder but doesn't like to be seen that way. He is friendly and allows anyone to stay in the Haven for as long as they like.
Appearance: Gryffin is about average height with a lean build. His messy blonde hair gets in the way of his emerald green eyes which can be a bother, but he doesn't have the time to cut it. Most of the time, he wears a heavy winter jacket and regular jeans with brown shoes around the Haven, as it can get chilly as times.
History: Gryffin was alone when he arrived at the Safe Haven in the beginning. He was shivering with tears almost frozen to his face. On the trip to a relatives, his family encountered a horde of monstrous animals. While his father sacrificed himself to allow his wife and child to escape, his mother grabbed him and ran to the nearest Safe Haven. Carrying the young boy and the chilling cold did a number on his mother, eventually making her use all her strength to get him close to the Haven. He was now an orphan. Luckily, the people who ran the Haven took him in and look after him, eventually leaving the Haven to him as they passed or left.

Name: Terra Delk
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Weapon: A large mallet that is also an ax on one side.
Personality: Terra is rather tomboyish. She doesn't like all the girly things and boys and dating. She's independent and likes to give others a hard time. She acts tough, but inside she's a true tsundere. Sometimes her jokes go too far or she snaps and doesn't let off a person. She also has a tendency of having moments of insanity. She doesn't let most people into her life and pushes them all away.
Appearance: Credit to rinmarugames artist. She wears this most of them time, but is also seen in a navy sweater at times.
History: Terra wasn't loved by her parents. She was seen as a nuisance and a mistake. At the age of 11, she was abandoned by her parents in Volment. She also was taken in and raised, where she became friends with Gryffin. She gets upset that he overworks himself and gets even madder when he feels that he's alone. She tries to help, but is pushed away.

Personality: Rather quiet and keeps to herself. She doesn't know the meaning of the word friend and doesn't know how to act in social situations. Doesn't usually talk much.
Appearance:
History: Unknown, she doesn't talk about it. Given how well she works alone and her quiet demeanor, it is believed she's been alone for some time, possibly an orphan with no siblings. Her survival skills also leads many to assume she has spent a good amount of time living in the wilderness, possibly starting at a very young age.
Other: Her weapons are lined with a special material that use friction to give off sparks which can ignite.

Personality: She is very friendly, but she gets mad if you threaten Henry. She is also a genius, and is open to being a friend. She also is known to be a favorite among the kids of the coal factory. Her best characteristic is that she honors honesty. She loves helping out others and she loves making weapons in her free time.

History: She was born in a coal factory, soon meeting Henry. The two became best friends. Almost to much..
One day, she left, waking in a strange place. She is being searched for by Henry, as the two do everything together. She was trained by an unknown man, but she can shoot anything in its weak spot without looking. This has lead her to be known as a person who should not be underestimated. She used to train with Henry, so she knows how to use spears and throwing knifes.

Weapon: Pistol that fires blasts of heat/fire
Personality: Phoenix can be a little arrogant at times and hot headed. He tends to be as stubborn as a mutant mule. He does get very protective of close friends and won't hesitate to beat on someone who was messing with them.
Appearance: Credit to original artist from rinmarugames. He does wear a heavy coat at times and a black beenie type hat.
History: Phoenix used to live in Herix before he was kicked out for reasons he won't divulge. He wandered around from Safe Haven to Safe Haven for a while, just drifting through life with no aim or reason. Finally, he collapsed in the snow due to starvation and frostbite, where he was found by the people of Volment

Phoenix was awestruck by the scene enfolding before him. Even in Herix, the biggest and best Safe Haven, they didn't have a garden like this. He wondered if they were even real or if they were mechanical. After his moments of awe, he backed away and looked at his surroundings. It was a simple room that reminded him of a prison cell, except that there was a door instead of bars. Curiously, he opened the door and peeked his head out into the hall to see that it was full of other doors presumably leading to a room like his.

Henry awoke in a strange room. Seeing the garden, he was shocked. He heard talking. Opening the door, he looked around, saying " Hello, Hello? Anyone here?" He put his hand on his spear, just in case someone got any.... ideas. Turning around, Henry saw a head poking out of the door. He looked at him, saying "Hey, who are you?"

Liza awoke in a similar room. She took out her pistol, pretending to shoot a rabbit in the garden. She kicked open the door, hearing Henry's voice. She wondered if it was her mind again, so she took out her pistol, ready to fire.

Kassandra gasped as she sat up looking around. A sudden dissiness caught her and she held her head. After a moment she realized the unusual warmth and she opened her eyes looking around only to be hit by the enchanted beauty of the guarden. She got up. "Am i dead?" She asked herself before feeling movement in her coat and then her little dwarfed snow lamb, Stuffing, poke his head out. She smiled and hugged the small creture. "I guess im still alive if your here too." She said and looked around at the room. "But where are we?" She walked over to the door and listened hearing muffled voices in the hallway. She cautiously opened the door and peered out. "hello?"

Henry noticed the voice, so he turned around. "Hey, who are you?" Just as he said this, Liza hugged him. He was startled by the motion.

Liza heard the voice. Running over she saw Henry. She hugged him. However, this startled him.

Saber sat up with a start, as if waking up from a nightmare. Feeling unusually warm, she slid her bandana away from her mouth and pulled her hood off. Wherever she was was quite strange, especially given that there was grass around her. She pulled out one of her kunai and lightly pricked her finger with the tip of the blade, just enough to draw a tiny drop of blood then put away the kunai. The pain told her she clearly wasn't dreaming, which brought up the question of just where she was and how she got there. Saber stood up, dusted herself off, and started walking around to explore her unusual surroundings.

Henry saw the strange figure. " Who are you?" He asked.

Kassandra heard the voices again and walked back into the room shutting the door and looking back out at the garden. "i have to be dreaming... There is no way this is real...."

OOC: Drobot... She is in her room with the door closed.... you cant just phase through walls please expand on your details....

Phoenix gave the boy a strange look before retreating back into his room. Looking around, he could come to an obvious conclusion that he was in a Safe Haven. His head ached as he tried to search his mind for what happened after he passed out in the snow, but to no avail. It's not like he was going to remember anything from when he was unconscious anyways. Suddenly, a static voice appeared from no where. His head whipped around and eventually found a speaker up in a ceiling corner of his room.
"Testing testing, 1, 2, 3, 4, cinco. Great, it works. Ok, so, people new to the Safe Haven who have no idea where they are, please step outside your rooms if you have come to. You will see a scary lady soon and i think it's that time of the month again, so watch ou-ow!" The message crackled a bit before turning off. That wasn't weird or anything... Phoenix thought. He shrugged and walked out into the hallway.

"Save Haven? Why is this feeling more like a kidnapping...?" Saber thought to herself. She surveyed the area for a moment before finding the door out of the grassy field. Apprehensive of this so-called "scary lady" and whoever else might be here, she drew out a kunai and tucked it up her sleeve, holding it at the ready in case she felt need to use it. She proceeded through the door and stood, leaning against the wall, waiting for whoever was to come by.

Henry wondered what this lady was. "Am I actually safe?"

Gingerly opening the door, Phoenix checked the hallway again and walked out, softly closing the door. He looked around his surroundings once again before noticing others leaving their rooms as well. He was still confused about what was going on, but it was bearable seeing how he wasn't dead in the snow. A shiver raced through his body as he remembered the bone chilling temperatures he had been in previously.
