Activision revealed that there will be a new game announced on april 14. Source so after seeing this, no one can tell for sure that it's gonna be skylanders. But after seeing this, it changed my mind. Beenox's event

They are doing an event on april 15. Coincidence? I don't think so. What do you think?

Btw guys I'll probably be going to that event so I'm gonna try to get as much info as I can get.

EDIT: Game has been confirmed to be guitar hero and the event will be a presentation showing how skylanders came to be.

Anyway, I think the game to be revealed on the 14th has been more or less confirmed to be a new Guitar Hero.
And that Beenox's event seems to refer to a simple encounter, whene they will talk about the making of Skylanders, as figures and games.

My french is not that good, but It should be something along those lines.

But on second thought ( more hopeful lol ) .... What if we thinks its a guitar hero invitation but it's actually about Wolfgangs rule over skylands, seeing as it's been suggested the voice actor was doing something for skylanders recently. Maybe he's the reason why it's music themed Lol.

i remember when i got swap force for the wii and beenox were part of it and..... well if you have played skylanders swap force on the wii you will know what im talking about

If I wasn't such a sucker I'd be right there with. I thought we got confirmation that V.V. is directly developing this one (Sky 5)? I'm still getting the Spanish language track from my sub woofer during cut-scenes and that pisses me off.

It's not Skylanders 5, it's confirmed to be a new Guitar Hero game.

I didin't know about the guitar hero game. But black ops 3... Is kind of announced already. Anyway only time will tell sadly.

Beenox had so many chances, it'd take a miracle for them to do better than VV and TFB. They screwed up the ports. They screwed up bug testing. They screwed up TT 3DS and were so lazy in what wasn't outright bad in that game that they might as well have made the console game's story instead. Still iffed at Warrior Librarians being generic robot models,yes.

If Beenox is the developer, I doubt it. You'll be lucky to get beyond the title screen without a glitch. And I don't even have to go to critiquing them as a developer...stuff is just buggy, not fun, or just plain lazy--I think it's core competence. As long as VV is back in the driver's seat, the crisis for me has been averted.

Scream it from the skies Bitfrost. Agree 100% with your assessment of what has been shown so far.

Hey guys, I am going to just throw this out there and it may mean absolutely nothing but a new domain was registered on 3/23/2015 and it's using that same "whois.webnic.cc" place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the registrar and the "whoisprotection.cc" as the contacts that skylanderstrapteam.com had on it before they moved it over the MARKMONITOR INC. (Acti's standard registrar).

The domain is "SKYLANDERSBATTLECAST.COM"

It has some domain registrar placeholder page on it right now when you hit it which is why I think it means nothing at the moment since Activision usually just has the new domains go to a 404 error. It could also be for a new APP as well. Maybe the one from the other thread. Who knows. I just thought I would share my findings.

Skylanders Battlecast? It does sound similar to the Skylanders Baa-tle thing that was found in a screenshot months ago. It doesn't mean straight away that it could be the next game, it could be a new mobile one since they abandoned Battlegrounds.

Abandoned as in they are removing it like Universe or abandoned as in no new content?

No new content even if the game isn't finished. It was never updated to TT(I think not even the final waves of SF) and apparently there were more stages,major bug fixes and a conclusion but they never came to be. They didn't discontinue it because the Starter Pack can still make an easy buck from people who don't know it's been abandoned,of course.

Are you referring to the Battlgrounds Starter pack that shipped with Giants?

I'm getting a little irritated with them starting down a path and not sticking with it. At least with Universe it was free...I suspect they are dropping it since the "console" experience is now available on mobile devices, but still...

Never played Battlegrounds...looks like a decent diversion when you are away from the console. But you say there's no end to the game because they didn't finish it?

I'm not sure,never had the chance to play it but was hoping to pick it up once it was complete so was taking other people's word for it. You battle a Chompybot 9000, get congratulated for it,and it just ends like the previous(first) chapter's boss. It's actually in the FAQ that they'd add more chapters and updates,but no,it's just two. You get triple the playtime getting Lost Islands and not buying a single figure for what you pay for Battlegrounds.

EDIT: In the forum in the mobile section the updates also list the Chompy Mage and Brock,but there's no footage to be found in youtube or the game's guides,dunno.

I remember when the game starts it has 4 "wanted posters" and the other two said "coming soon"....is this the content they are waving like candy and then like a pain-yatta says "no candy for you!"

I think they might reveal Battle Cast and Sky5 at the same time. I'm positive that they aren't the same thing.

What will be interesting is if they expect a PvP "one off" game to put them off the hook on providing the experience in the main game. Cause I won't do both. They've been clear in my mind that they want the same experience on all platforms, so putting out another "one off" game doesn't make sense now that they've delivered the console experience on mobile devices. Not buying that this is a one off. Graveyard is full of one offs already (Battlegrounds, Universe...) do we need another?

ViDeOmAnCiNi posted it a bit above in the topic, it's with only one 'a' however.

I would be thrilled with a spin-off (presuming it's a okay-to-great game, like the 3DS installments, not crappy-to-mediocre, like the previous mobile games).

We spend crazy amounts of money amassing an army of figures each year to play through one or two titles - then complain about the lack of game play vs. the cost of the figures.

Give me 3-4 good games a year... :D
