I only heard rumors as I never played any game with Moneybags in it, except for Heros Tail and I did not get far in that particular game. Well me and my friend Franky beat Spyro 2 today, and every time I saw that ****ing bear, I flinched. Never have I met a character in a game I wanted to beat with a spiked club as I do with Moneybags. He is just a crappy individual who will back stab you at the drop of a hat, or swindle you.
That war between the two factions in the second world; between the birds and the... Walrus's? Well ya know what, I would not be shocked if this jerk started the war just to make a dollar. And he just sells bombs to Ripto, the guy who kicks him out of his own home two times prior without caring.

Bottom line... **** Moneybags.

You'll want to listen to some of the comments Moneybags says in Spyro 3 when you say the "No" option. Some of them are brutal.

Also in this children's game is the Sorceress planning to kill 151 baby dragons just to shut them up, so...

I honestly think that "darker" games aimed towards children are not a bad thing, as long as they are presented well. It's fine if it's the villain doing it, but if it were presented in anyway as being not reprehensible then it would be a problem

Moneybags is at least amusing. And by amusing, I mean I love it when someone utterly beats the crap out of him.

Yeti: I say, one more good sport?

Spyro: One more at least~

It's all worth it if you get all the gems in Spyro 3. You get to beat them out of Moneybags and it's incredible. :D

Also, let us not forget that Ripto said outright he was going to kill, well...a lot of people. At a time when "kill" wasn't acceptable to say in media aimed at kids. :D The Sorceress was dang nasty, though.

I quite liked Moneybags in Spyro 2, he had a pleasant voice. He taught Spyro all his new moves and gave you an unlimited rides of his shark submarine. Ok sure, you had to pay some gems but come on, the bear is only just trying to make a living.

I did not like his voice in YotD and EtD and he was extremely rude, having the nerve to refer to Spyro as 'gullible'. His haiku was pretty decent though.

But he kind of was? You can't kick his butt at the end of YotD until you've gotten all the gems and that usually can't be done until you've beaten the Sorceress at least once.

Moneybags is one of the best characters in the original trilogy. And yeah, it was super satisfying beating gems out of him at the end of YotD.

Probably my one major complaint with AHT is how they changed Moneybags so much. I'd have preferred a new character altogether, honestly.
