Why would Malefor want to keep Spyro and Cynder connected at all times?

Malefor use chain slow down Spyro and Cynder.

Maybe also, so if he captures one of them, he also has the other, so its an esier job. Also, so you have to stay together in the game, realise its not taken off during, not until the end.

Malefor removed the chain for a while, but hen Cynder wouldn't concede, he reattatched it. I wonder, it the tether still going to exsist in the next game?

No, the chain is removed now, when Malefor died.

Yeah, when Malefor was sealed inside that huge purple crystal by the ancestors of the past purple dragons, the chain that kept Spyro and Cynder connected disappears for good along with him.

But... how are they gonna stay together in the next game, then?

Well, they can't move very far away, can they? It reduces a 2-on-1 issue to something more manageable. And, in real life prospective, it could strangle them if they got too far apart. <.<;

To not wander without another dragon.
For storyline purposes:
Maybe it's a detector. Nah. I don't really know.

To the hermit he was happying because the hermit could then prey on two dragons.

I think it was used for the begining-of-game execution (where they were chained up and were most likely going to be fed to the golem, but even though they broke free the chain was still stuck,It probally wasnt meant to be there for that, just to hold them in place...)

So that they can't go too far away from each other in order to keep them both in camera view.

In game terms, IT SYMBOLISES THE LOVE BETWEEN TWO BUTT-UGLY DUCKS/DRAGONS.

It was so they could be sacrificed to the Golem at the beginning of the game, then they just couldn't get it off.

i think that he jsut wanted to destroy both dragons because he knew that they wear a threat to him and his planes

I think it's a little of all the answers. Although, if we do have co-op in the next game, i hope they make it split screen, cuz the rope was good, but i would like to spread out. Then one of my friends could scope one side of the place while i scope the other. I just think it would make it that much more fun.

ok course he has plans he wants to reserect the destroyer and destroy the earth to creat a new one so he can build his own empire and rule the woarld and he knows that spyro and cynder have the power to destroy his planes so he creats the snake chains to keep them together first trying to sacrifise them but i think he knew they would succed and get to them so he want's them to be to gether not only to slow them down but to make them easyer targets and so he dosn't have to chance chasing after the other if they escape. that is what i think at least
