Because honestly he isn't that bad of a director in my opinion. Sure he makes stereotypical Murican movies but why do movies that are just the same as his get praised? The Avengers for example had tons of explosions, a really long climax, fan-service, and a weak plot. If a movie like The Expandables had "Directed By Michael Bay" on it the audience are most likely gonna hate becaude his name is cursed. It seems that people just hate him because internet critics dislike him and want to join that bandwagon? In my opinion Michael Bay is extremely underrated and is only hated because it is cool to hate him.

Hey look a serious sP thread.

I'm not sure if people make fun of him, just associate him with explosions. And if people do make fun of him, I don't think he cares. He's a millionaire.

I don't think he's bad.

I mean, he's made some good movies, but he's also made some bad movies.
But, everyone, ( And by everyone I mean famous YouTubers ) have portrayed him as some evil demon who survives only off of "ruining your childhood" by making over the top expensive and explosion filled movies,
That may be a bit true, but they're not as bad as they are shown as.
Yeah they're bad, just not that bad.

I feel like if everyone on YouTube didn't make countless videos talking about how terrible he is, this whole "Michael Bay is a terrible director" fad wouldn't be have as big.

I, for one, actually liked Age Of Extinction~

You answered your own question. He makes stereotypical Murican movies. People tend to rag on him more than others because he's seen as the face of everything wrong with modern summer blockbusters, even if he does it better than most people.

Also people don't like The Expendables. Only reason some people might is nostalgia.

I think we discussed this last time you asked this question. The Avengers is different because the people behind it have a clear love for the source material; something that Bay didn't/doesn't have for Transformers (he admitted to not really liking it). So The Avengers is focused mostly on the heroes teaming up and beating up villains, while Transformers has often focused more on the comedic human characters and drama.

This.

Michael Bay makes it blatant he doesn't like Transformers.

Heck, Michael Bay knows his movies suck and he doesn't give two craps about it.

Bay is the definition of a corporate scumbag, he's been told time and time again that his formula is garbage, his response? "oh I make a movie for teenagers!!! what a crime lololololol!!!!!"

I can't say that i've ever taken the time to form an opinion.

At the end of the day the director doesn't make the film, the actors do, they are just there to make sure things don't go too badly wrong.

Also when did sP get serious, have i stepped into the Twilight zone?
