This is a simple question. lets say if a necular war went down where would go and hide and why? I'd parsonally hide in a bunker with my family hoping i wont die.

I live in what would be considered a primary target for nuclear strike so I'd probably die before I got the chance to hide somewhere.

We knew the world would not be the same.

Few people laughed.

Few people cried.

Most people were silent..

I remember the lion from the hindu scripture, the bhagavad gita.

Vishnu, takes on his multi-armed form, and says.

Now I am become death, the destroyer worlds. I'm sure we've all thought that.. one way or another.

If there was a nuclear war, we'd all be dead even if we did find a hiding place, not even comic books will be saved.

I don't think the bombs would reach western Finland. This area is not strategically important. No mines, no important factories, no harbors, no large military bases..

That being said, if a nuclear war was to break out, I would probably be on the field at that moment. Which is actually good thing (in a way) because smart people don't bomb troops with nukes.

if you survive the initial blast, just get underground before the fallout comes down and wait for rescue i guess.

i can't even think of a reason why finland would be nuked in the first place? theoretically, all nuclear strikes occur in retaliation for another nuclear strike, and since finland doesn't have a nuclear weapons program i can't see how that would ever be an issue

I live next to one of the biggest and widest known military laboratories in the nation, and one that helped develop the atomic bomb. They also stored most of the Southwest's nuclear devices, create thousands of pieces of experimental weaponry, and we have an Air Force base right next door.

In short, I'm ****ing screwed.

It's not that simple unfortunately. There are a lot of strategic locations all around Europe that would be a prime target for russian (or depending on the circumstances, american) nukes. Tho southern coast of Finland is one of them, due to many of our larger cities and naval military bases being located there. In the event of war, military bases in Finland could provide vital support to NATO troops because of their close proximity to Russia's borders.

I live really close to one of England's biggest natural harbours which is kind of important / still massively used for a lot of things. But on the other hand, because I live next to this harbour (which was a really easy target in WW2) there are a lot of bomb protection structures still around. Maybe if I'm lucky?

Living in NC, I'm right under most of the important places in the USA. If they ever did get hit, even something close like The White House, which seems very unlikely, I would probably survive the initial blast.

But...... The radiation would most likely reach me, if not the wind blow it here ;>.>

But by that time I'd probably start leaving, either farther south or west~

I do not actually have a clue where I would like to be or go in case of full-blown nuclear warfare. Since nuclear war will most likely be a culmination of international failure of human-beings being able to talk things out and behave themselves and caring about things that actually “matter”, the aftermath of the actual bombings will cause quite unpleasant circumstances for human life as we know it to survive. So I guess that the options that sound most tempting are to be in the middle of ground zero or a distant strategically indifferent location that would have even a small amount of habitable surroundings. Of course my fantasy scenario suggests that it will be The End of the World situation but still, yeah...
