I have until the 5th to decide. Should I get another Mini at 33% off and have some gems left over or buy Hijinx's House? Any advice?
How often do Mini Houses appear?

They seem to appear near monthly,much more than Giant and Alter Ego houses. If you have a few toys you could always trade for mini codes too, they're much more common than before.

It depends what you like. I wanted all the houses so I got them out of the way, even if I do not have the alter egos yet. Other companions may be more practical for your leveling needs especially if they come on sale. For example, Quigley will allow you to use that newspaper and saves you a lot of clicking getting all your XP.

If you do not have it, the adventure clock, if that goes on sale again, buy it. Its awesome.

Or, save up for when your Sanctuary upgrades go on sale again, they are pricey but are better and will save you room. I do not have any yet, of those.

I am a huge fan of the houses. They cost nothing to use, and give you gems, gold, energy, and kingdom experience. If you have Hijinx, I would highly recommend buying her house.

Buy a Mini House . It only takes up one square so that makes it better then an Alt or Giant house . I bought a Small Fry house

I agree that you should go for the house, and try to look at the code trading thread to get hijinx herself
