I brought in 5 Skylanders all Spyro's Adventure and was offered 70 cents.
.20 for Trigger Happy, Terrafin and Sonic Boom
.05 for Stealth Elf and Gil Grunt.
Guess I'm going to have doubles.

Wow, I'd be buying all of could if I could get them at those prices! I'm pretty sure Skylanders will be basically worthless as the years go by, which if fine with me as I so want to build armies of certain characters.

There is some guy on ebay that has been selling them in huge bulk quantities which amounts to about $1 each for months now. He seems to have a never ending supply of them and he has to be paying pennies on the dollar for them or selling factory rejects or something. I always wondered how he managed to get so many of them.

I know I paid more for them than what was offered, I was hoping to get a least enough to buy a trap,lol
The funny thing is they were selling Stealth Elf for 3.00$ and offering .05 for trade in. Yikes.

I guess they figure it will sit on the shelf for a long time since most fans have that character. They will probably never sell them so they are willing to try for .05 trade in and hope to get a 2.95 profit - shelf space. At this point all GS that I have been into have a lot of shelf warmers of used Skylanders, they don't seem to sell much. Of course there are those new fans that are playing catch up but I think there are more used Skylanders than new fans that want old characters. Just my own opinion.

I'm also betting they are monitoring their inventory and feel they have everything they need. Gravy Train is over!

I rescued an S1 Zooky Baby from the mean old Pawn shop prison for about $ 1.50 last week .

wow thats terrible of gamestop, that is a great picture of chump change.

GameStop's trade in prices are downright awful.

That's why I use the service described in this article.

On average I think I got about $3 per figure.

Prices for skylanders were comparable to the web site you listed when it started...if they are indeed moving to a sub $1 range then I think this web site or selling on eBay is better.

I'm surprised GameStop is still taking them. It probably costs them more to ship them out to get them cleaned and reset and then sold again. I'm sure the only reason they are even offering the chump change for them is in hopes of snagging one of the rarer figures from those parents looking to dump out all their kids' Skylanders figures. Considering many older figures are $5 or less new at Five Below and TRU, I wouldn't bother taking an older common figure if I ran a business as there wouldn't be a profit margin after all is said and done.

That will probably vary per Skylander. A lot of the kids collecting the figures will grow up and want to relive their childhood; people usually get nostalgic for the things they had as a kid. Because of that, the Skylanders which are rare now might still be worth something. Fire Bone Hot Dog, maybe. There will always be way too many Stealth Elfs and Gill Grunts with little variation between them, though.

you will have to wait 10-20 years for that nostalgia to kick in...

Well they do have to compete with Five Below selling new figures for 5 dollars.
as Fairyland I tend to think a lot of Skylanders will be worthless in time. Only those rare colors will hold any value. I was able to get Dark Ninja Stealth Elf today for 1.50. love Stealth Elf so I'm fine to have more versions of her. After Elite however Gill Grunt and Eruptor are banned from my collection.

With the technology upgrade , they wont be able to replay it . Hopefully they hold onto their vintage console .

I'm sure there's someone willing to hold on to all of this stuff in new condition and sell it back to you guys 20 years down the road after you've "grown up" only to realize Eon will be calling your name...

I sadly only held onto one of mine. My NES has been long gone but my Sega Genesis is still in fantastic working order. So it's possible.

There is actually still a working Famicom in my house .
