Not sure if this is common knowledge yet, but I figured out randomly last night that you can use the Dark Element villain Nightshade to do the same type of money trick on the dummies in town. Every time Nightshade strikes anything with his main punching attack, he generates money. The first hit generates a large gem, and subsequent hits generate less and less until you get 1-3 coins per hit. What you can do is just keep summoning him, hitting the dummy a couple times, the unsummoning and summoning him back immediately. Every time it resets the gem you get, so you can just keep getting the large gem. Also, you can do this as long as you want because the villain timer doesn't go down while you're in town.

So basically:

1. Summon Nightshade
2. Make sure you are BEHIND the target dummy, as this generates 3x the money
2. Attempt to initiate stealth the moment Nightshade lands. If done correctly, he will stealth instantly and not do the animation. This will give you a bonus to money for the first hit. If you fail to time it correctly, don't worry about it.
2. Punch the target dummy about 3-4 times
3. Unsummon Nightshade
4. Repeat

Also, the Sky Diamond is NOT used in this trick at all. I just put that in the title because this trick reminds me of the Swap Force Sky Diamond trick.

EDIT: Hitting the targets from the back seems to make this almost as lucrative as the Swap Force Sky Diamond trick, actually!

Cool. I'll give it try next time I play.

Could you advise how this compares to other money "cheats" that have been talked about so far? Up to this point, the Chomp Chest method seems to generate the most money in the least amount of time. It's been a little while since I've had Trap Team out, so I'm not certain how much the large gems are worth, how long each summon/unsummon would take, etc., and can't really picture how this stacks up.

There's another trick, too:

1. Summon Nightshade.

2. Go immediately into stealth mode.

3. Stand behind the dummies and attack the back of them.

You'll get 2x more Gold this way.

I actually didn't know any other tricks for Trap Team prior to this. In all honesty I just started playing the game this week. I read this forum for the past week and didn't remember seeing anything about this, so I was hoping maybe it was a new technique. Anyway, you are getting like 10 coins per second with this trick, on average. Someone can correct me if that's off, because it's just a rough estimate. Sometimes more coins come out of the dummies than other times, and I don't know why. I had one time where it was spawning 4 things every punch.

Anyway, I will try Matteomax's way and see if that improves it at all.

Okay, so I think maybe you get 3x the money if you hit the enemy from behind? Can't seem to find a benefit to sneaking up on it with stealth. Seems to just give more money if the target is hit from the back whether stealthed or not.

EDIT: Yes, you do! This trick is really good now. I can't see there being any better way to get money. I just fully upgraded Blastermind in 5-10 minutes starting from nothing.

ive done this alot and its effective. Ive also ran a few numbers too.

Its about 75-150 gold every 6 seconds or so.( RNG and timing dependent) But there are a few tricks to this that make it this fast. My steps are below.

1. put nightshade in the trap and choose the skylander you want money for.
2. go behind one of the training dummies. ( the 2nd one works well for me as the camera is not blocked and its already kind of facing away)
3. swap to nightshade.
4. When nightshade is coming in double tap his stealth ability. The timing is you want to hit his stealth right as he touches the ground. This will cause him to go into stealth immediately with no animation.
5. Hit the dummy from behind. ( i like to hit it 3 times, only once in stealth, after the 3rd time you hit rock bottom with gold drops.)
6. swap to your skylander.
7. repeat from step 3 until your done or bored.

the amount of gold you get is dependent on 2 main factors. 1. damage done 2. first attack. So in stealth from behind you do max damage, add in first attack and you can get 70+ gold just off that 1 attack.

ive never tested other gold ways so idk how it stacks up. but with all winged sapphires im able to buy all of a skylanders abilities in about 13-15 mins, maybe less.

I'd still recommend the Chomp Chest money trick, especially if you have the Winged Boots magical item. You can get 3000 coins in about 30-45 seconds, then do it again after the 20-30 seconds or so it takes to reload the level.

After having most/all of the Winged Sapphires, you only need to do this 3 times for a character without path switching or 5 times for ones that do. Great way to try out both paths before deciding which one to keep.

Yeah, I also recommend the Chop Chest cheat although i do not have a Dark Trap so i have to wait in see
Yet the Sky diamond runs out really fast...

If you pull off the stealth trick while switching I think you could get a few thousand gold in a few minutes with this trick. Not sure which is faster because load times can make this different for each person. But if you only needed a couple hundred gold real quick, this method has to be nice to know.
