Ellen began to toss, shake and turn Stripes over and over again to the point of tire him out and make him dizzy.
"See son? You need to tire them out first." she said, shaking her head with Stripes inside.

Randy found hard to believe what Zonos just said.
"So what do you want us to do? Humans are a race that can't be stopped no matter how much we try. If they kill many of you, well, that's not our problem." Randy said coldly, feeling no sympathy for him.
"Now, you better swim away before I report you to master Jet." he then said, hoping that he would leave because he didn't want to turn his back on a shark.

"Yeah yeah. Nice job. Looks like you really are improving." Cairo praised, having a reluctant respect for him.
"Better be grateful that I gave you the position." Cairo then said, expecting Jet to owe him for the rest of his life.
"Now then, you have proven much today. Since you caught Sybil first, I will leave her with you. I think I'm going to play catch with the pod." he then said, having seen how Rose was thrown between members of the pod, and he wanted in. It looked fun.

Ellen smiled at that remark. Although she wasn't using her full strength on Stripes, she still managed to tire him out.
"Mommy, can I hold him?" Dagger asked, wanting to do the same to Stripes. Ellen then whispered to the thylacine.
"Hey, I'm going to give you to my son now. Just pretend you're trying to get away, all right? I want to boost his morale. she said to his ear, wanting her son to develop a high self esteem when the time of a real hunt came.

Randy then thought for a moment. But what Zonos was asking was impossible.
"If we try to save your family, we'll simply get killed too. If you want to save the remaining members, move out. That's all there's left to do. Once humans claim something, it's impossible to recover." Andy suggested, trying not to sound like he cared. He didn't want to give Zonos the wrong impression.

As Sybil was thrown, she could see Cairo leaving. He wasn't a quitter, so that meant he wanted to do something else. As she fell inside Jet's mouth again, she imagined at he wanted to spend some time with her.
"Well Jet, I suppose you have me for a while." she said, chuckling.

Dagger grabbed Stripes by the ear and tried to place his entire body inside his mouth. He felt so strong. If only he knew Stripes wasn't using his own strength.
"I won't let you escape." he said with determination, pulling him by the tail and trying to slurp him whole, but he only managed to reach his shoulders. Ellen's mother winked at Stripes, grateful that he was patient and tolerant of her son.

"Rose, are you out of it? Do you have any idea how much he injured my family at the war?" Randy said, still having a few of his orca friends with shark bite marks.
"We orcas do protect... but only those who deserve it." he then said, to Zonos this time.
"And besides, who knows if this is a trap? Or if it's real, who can guarantee us that he won't betray us later on?" he then said, addressing to Rose again.

"Yes Jet, you won, but I know Cairo wouldn't have let you if he didn't have something else in mind, but whatever. Congratulations." Sybil said kindly, letting Jet enjoy his victory. She was willing to endure whatever Jet had in store for her. Whatever it wasn't, she doubted it could be worse than what Cairo made her went through.

"Just like that, huh? Talk about selfish. But anyway, let's put ugliness aside and let's keep playing." Rumble said, changing the subject fast. He knew that the animal of the Haven were there to forget about humans, so he continued the rough play to forget ever bringing the subject up.

Dagger grunted in desperation. He then tried to swallow up Stripes since that was the only way to fit him in all, but he only managed to gulp his tail and back paws. His throat was still too small.
"Dagger darling! Easy, easy! Remember, this is just a practice!" Ellen said startled, knowing how stubborn her son could be. Dagger almost succeeded in his self portrayed mission, since only Stripe's head remained outside. Poor little orca wanted to grow up so fast.

"Well so much for that promise!" Randy said bitterly, already starting to question Rose's future leadership. Her faith in certain animals was too overwhelming.
"But did you really believed I was going with you alone? NO! You're already here. You need to respond to our leader Jet and the lady Sybil." Randy said angrily, cutting Zono's exit to escort him to the pod. His fate was going to be decided there.

"Sure, whatever you say." Sybil responded, kinda relieved. She was having enough of getting trapped inside jaws the entire day.

"Come on son, hand him over." Ellen scolded, realizing her son was getting too carried away. Dagger wanted to try just a bit harder, but his mother took Stripes away from him.
"I said enough son! I know you want to be big fast, but enjoy your youth!" she lectured, with her son leaving towards the pod, disappointed.
"So sorry about that Mr. Stripes. I never thought he would go that far." Ellen apologized, believing that as his mother, she should have known better than to feed Dagger's overwhelming ego.

Ellen went back to the pod to return Stripes to shore, when she heard the gasp of several orcas. But it wasn't due to her arrival. It was her brother, returning with Rose... and with a shark!
"Ellen, go get the boss and the lady Sybil. This... shark... needs to talk to them." he said with disgust, with Ellen going there.

"Look Jet, everything seems calm at the shore. Do you think the pod is done playing?" Sybil asked, seeing the still dorsal fin, but she was too far away to notice that one of those dorsal fins was not from an orca...

As Jet swam, he came face to face with Ellen.
"Oh boss. This is... how can explain it? My brother Randy, he brought a shark that says needs help." Ellen informed, not wanting to return to the pod with that shark around.
"That shark must really have a death wish. Doesn't he know that they aren't welcomed here?" Sybil said with a sense of irony, but when Ellen mentioned who that specific shark was, Sybil's heart sank.
"What does he want? Come on Jet, we need to get to the bottom of this." Sybil said with fear, clinging to Jet's dorsal fin. She didn't want to risk falling into the water with a shark in it.

A great amount of murmurs and whispers were heard among the orcas. Cairo was behind the bunch, looking from his hiding spot to see how Jet would handle a situation like that.
"Zonos... how can you show up here after what you have done?" a fearful Sybil said, grasping to Jet's dorsal fin. She didn't have that tone of grudge Randy had, but she couldn't forget the harm he has done to her marine friends, not to mention how cold he acted towards her when she tried to politely convince him to resist Shadow's orders back at Komodo island...

Sybil wasn't convinced. Like Randy, she thought that it all could be a trap, and that he was still working for Shadow, but she did the Haven for a reason, and knew she couldn't let the past cloud her judgement.
"Alright then. Get to the point. What do you want from us?" she asked, sensing the scary tension around. It was like the orcas were waiting for an order to tear Zonos apart without hesitation or remorse. Orcas and sharks were natural enemies.

A mixture of groans and laughs thundered around the members of the pod. Either that was a shark with a death wish, or if it was a trap, that was the stupidest excuse one could think of. Silence followed once they saw Sybil's serious expression.
"Are you suggesting a war against them?" Sybil asked, knowing that what he was asking was impossible. Why, even with all the preparations she and the island residents had against him and Shadow, it was a battle that they almost lost, so one against a race such as humans was hopeless.

"May I suggest sabotage?" A sudden voice from above said. It was none other than the michievous Mambo, who knew about the game from the gossiping marine birds. He has been seeing the orcas play with the Haven resident for a while, since it was pretty much the only source of entertainment, and has seen and heard everything. Landing on Sybil's head, he then whispered to her ear.
"Come on miss Sybil. Let's help the poor lad. You can take half of the pod and leave the rest here to protect both you and the Haven in case this is a trap." he said in low voice, wanting a bit of an adventure.

"Alright Zonos. We will help you... BUT... we will take half of the orca pod to your place. If this is all a trap, we won't give you another chance." Sybil warned, being convinced by Mambo t help, much to the other orcas dismay. Indeed, half the pod could stay at the Haven waters and protect it from any possible invasion, and the other half could protect her just in case they were being led to an ambush.

Cairo then soon grabbed Sybil and placed her on his own head.
"I'll go with Sybil! You Jet, stay here and keep vigilant. You too Rose." Cairo said, looking at Zonos with bloodshot eyes. He then chose his most trusted orcas to accompany him and Sybil to the journey. Despite him not being leader anymore, they were still loyal to him. Mambo did the same and recruited a few of his flock, including Cole and Cheryl. They were going to need the keas if humans were involved.

The game was over. Stripes was placed at the shore by Ellen, being in no mood to continue after that madness. The orca brothers were the only ones who missed the tense meeting, being very far away, still playing with AJ and Sayan. If they knew what happened, they were probably want to go to Komodo island...

"Sure." Randy said kindly, but upset with Mambo for convincing Sybil of that madness. He left Rose at the shore and followed his nephew and sister. Neither of the orcas were in the mood to play anymore. They were so upset with what happened, they haven't even noticed that not all of the members were present. They just returned to their usual pacing, occasionally catching a chinook salmon that swam too near them and taking their anger on the poor fish.

Cairo and his recruits, with the keas flying above him, followed Zonos, beyond the current that protected them from human voyages. Like she did with Jet, Sybil clinged to Cairo's dorsal fin, not wanting to slip off. Sharks were much faster swimmers, so she didn't want to risk falling into the water and practically at Zono's mercy.

Jaril, the leader of the dolphins, intercepts them with his pod beside him. He has heard of the news from other sea life. Great scars are visible on his body, but he does not attack Zonos. He does not speak, rather observes them, silently with his pod.

AJ:

I slowly begin to stir after a short rest. I have no idea about the current situation at all. Instead I start to play with the younger orca's tongue.

Sybil is so concentrated in holding on to Cairo that she didn't noticed that Zonos and the orcas were not the only ones in the water.

The orca brothers payed with the cats for a longer while, with the younger one sometimes feeling tempted to swallow up AJ so that he would stop making him all ticklish, but fortunately, he had enough self control. The siblings then saw the sun hiding at the horizon and realized that it was getting very late.
"Oh well, fun doesn't last forever. Listen Mr. Sayan, if you had enough, we can return you and the AJ sir to the Haven." Rumble said politely, in the mood for just a tiny bit more of play, but willing to return AJ and Sayan if they had enough.

AJ:

"I don't mind, getting a little rest. Sorry about tickling you. I had fun," I say to the younger orca.

Cairo continued on, very unsettled. Even if it wasn't a trap, humans were a worst threat. All he could do was trust in Mambo. After all, it was his big, loose beak that got them I to that mess...

"Let's just bring them home big bro. I think they had enough." Ricky said, speaking more of himself. Before waiting for Sayan to reply, Rumble agreed.
"You're right. Besides, there's always tomorrow." Rumble said happily, placing Sayan on his back while Ricky did the same to AJ. They began to swim to shore, completely oblivious of what happened just a few minutes ago...

Jaril and his pod are also uneasy. Humans are dangerous, they know they have seen it firsthand. Still they are willing to help despite the danger.

Sybil looked. It was true after all. And it was a big one too. She didn't even know humans hunted sharks.
"So..." she said, thinking of a plan.
"We disable their harpoons and net. That's the way." Mambo suddenly said, feeling very exited at the idea of destruction and sabotage, just like he did back in his original home.
"But we can't risk the humans seeing us keas. We are just not from this place. Zonos, is there a white substance we can paint our feathers with?" Mambo asked, wanting his flock to be confused with seagulls so that they could act natural, distract the humans and have sneaky access to the equipment.

Sybil didn't like the idea of Mambo and the others going to that infernal island where Shadow lived.
"Mambo, wait, did you forget who lives over there?" she said, terrified.
"Not to worry miss. We'll be careful." Mambo assured, very exited with the adventure.
"Let's go everyone. Time to get that chalk. You get the seaweeds." he said, addressing to Zonos. Cairo could be able to help, but he had Sybil to take care of, so he remained at he surface. He however, ordered his recruited orcas to help with the recollection.

Jaril and his pod remain nearby as well. The dolphins try to be brave but Cairo can see that they are afraid. Even their leader, struggles to remain calm. They know all too well what man is capable of.

Cairo had noticed the dolphins for a while, but it was now that Sybil noticed their presence.
"Cairo... aren't those the same dolphins that helped us during the war?" she asked, wondering where they came from, and since when they started following.
"Yes, they have been around for half the journey, but it's better if they keep their distance. A large cloud of animals in the water is bound to create humans some suspicions." Cairo said bitterly, being in his mind to tell the dolphins to leave. Like with sharks, orcas didn't get along with dolphins, and already there was more than enough help around to have more unwanted animals in that mission.

Jaril and his pod remain nearby but far enough as to not antagonize Cairo or the pod. Still they are very uneasy about this whole thing. They know personally how dangerous humans are and what they are capable of.

A few minutes later, the orcas returned with the sea weeds they could carry. The keas still haven't returned, so Sybil used that time to try to convince Cairo to play nice.
"Come on Cairo. Can't you at least be nice to the dolphins? They helped you before." she said, but he remained silent. He was just annoyingly stubborn in that matter.

AJ:

I smile and relax on Ricky's back. It has been fun, but taking a cap nap sounds good about now. Still I enjoyed every minute of it.

"Here we are, don't we look gorgeous?" Mambo said, landing on Cairo's head. He was all covered in white. He looked more like a curved beaked cockatoo without the feathers in the head.
"I know, we don't look so much like seagulls, but if humans see us from the distance, they won't know. They don't have very good eyesight." Mambo assured, after seeing Sybil's worried face.

Now that everything was settled, it was time for the sabotage. The orcas were the ones who were sugessted to use the seaweeds, since their black back could camouflage very well with the dark, deep waters from below. The keas started to fly above the ship, pretending they were just ordinary seagulls looking for stranded fish. Humans were easily distracted, especially when they were working, so they started to fly in unusual pattern to get their attention. Hopefully, once they started watching the natural spectacle, it would give Mambo and a small group of keas accompanying him to intercept the nets and harpoons and start gnawing...

Jaril and his pod remain silent as they watch what is going on. They are trying to figure out what they can do to help, but they are afraid. Their leader, Jaril, however is struggling the most with this.

"I guess the others called it a day as well.," Sayan said as the felines and orca brothers approached the shore. "Thank-you Rumble and Ricky.. it was fun.," he then said as stepped onto the shore unaware of what occurred.

He then noticed Rose. "Rose.. is something wrong? ...Where is everyone?," he asked.

AJ:

I shyly hide behind Sayan, as I see another Haven inhabitant. My tail flicks back and forth as I watch from behind him. My eyes sparkle brilliantly in the light.

"Humans? ..Attacking sharks?!," Sayan said not expecting to hear about those pesky creatures again. "That's... that's not good; not good at all! And those sharks aren't that far away from the haven.," he then said immediately concerned.
