Completion star "glitch"?

According to ign . Com
"There is a f'ourth star', this only becomes available after you defeat the game. The fourth star are "Difficult Dares" and basically consist of a time trial and not switching out your skylander for another."
But on my PS3 I had it right from the very beginning of the game.
Is this a goof? I had about the stars before but I wasn't sure how to explain it untill now.

Well, the 4th star is also comprised of the villain quests. I did not see them until I defeated Kaos but you in theory were working to complete some of those things before you knew you were.

mine only showed up after beating kaos.
