Didn't try that. It also works without getting the skylander out of its box.

The trap slot is also useful for putting the top half of a swapper in, leaving the legs on the portal by themselves.

If you play Previous games, with the STT portal, you can place magic items/adventure pieces on the trap slot, and they work like normal.

You can also put some figures right NEXT to the portal and it goes off...
