In this video you can see a Skystones match against Flynn at the Skylanders Academy, but I never been able to challenge him at all.



Is there a requirement like beating the game 100% or is it console specific (playing on my Wii by the way).

Actually, you can just pause the game, and then simply choose "Play Skystones Smash". It's not that hard.

I to have been wondering this, and have yet to figure it out. I wonder if it was only something you could do in between a certain chapter?

That only works on the Wii U version.

Captain Flynn is exclusive to the Wii U Version with the play Skylanders Skystones Smash anywhere feature.

Wow. I know this isn't a big thing, but I never knew about this. I've been playing cards with the matey in the back of the academy...didn't know you didn't have to find a player NPC.

Is Flynn any better at the game than the other characters? My cards are so over-powered that I don't even have to look at what I'm placing down. I just mash buttons and win.

His health is 7, so I'd say no. Not sure if anyone has played with the NPCs in Chapter 1 and 3....but Glumshanks in Chapter 18 has been the most competitive--I could only beat him AFTER I got a Kaos card.

I have the game for Wii U, but I didn't know playing with Flynn was exclusive to the Wii U version. Considering that the implementation makes it seems like a regular game feature, I thought that it was just there for all versions.

Personally, for the Wii U version, I was hoping that with the GamePad screen, you could play Skystones on a table with an actual friend; not a CPU. If you've played the tabletop games in Wii Party U, then you know what I'm talking about. That would really make the Wii U version stand out for me, especially since the implementation of the GamePad this time around is cute, but virtually useless (aside from off-TV play). I guess that's what you get when Beenox does the port...

I believe he's the one in chompy mountain that you'll have to go back to after you've learned how to play skystones. He has 99 health but isn't too hard to beat if you have the right stones.

I though it was just a glitch on my system! I battled him and it was like: "Oh. ****."

Doom Raider-Edition Skystones are way stronger and more useful than others except for The Gulper's. Nightshade has four Lightning Bolts and does 2 percent damage. He would be perfect against powerful Skystones Smash players, but I'd place it only where the opponent's space is empty. Luminous has four Heart Boosters.

Ahh...He's the only guy I haven't beat yet. So he's the equivalent of Quigley in Giants which I think was also in Chapter 3 IIRC.

I did remember playing someone with a 99 health (I don't remember who), but as soon as you destroy all his cards, the game is over (and we were only half way through the game, so our Skystones collection wasn't that big). It goes a couple of rounds past destroying all the cards, then just stops as it knows you will eventually beat them. Their health never gets to 0.
