In a time of war and strife where anicent dragons of legends awoken. Where the all of Skyrim is uncertain. New heroes will rise, as the wicked comes from the shadow. The Dragonborn of this time; Artorias, must survive the trails ahead in order for him reach his destiny and save Nirn from destruction. Will he and his friends be able to survive? or will darkness swallow the world whole.

Creeping in the darkness of the woods near Riften, a young Nord was stalking a elk that roams the woods. Silently as the wind he creeps upon the elk, pulling back the drawstring of his bow. The tip of the arrow was gleaming in the moonlight, he release the drawstring, causing the arrow to rush out of the shadows; like a snake striking it's prey, embedding itself into the elk's neck; killing it instantly, the animal's body fell over hitting the ground with a soft thumb. The Nord came out of the shadows to collect his trophy when he heard a twig snap in the shadows. Turning around notching another arrow and pulling back the drawstring. He called out into the darkness, "Who's there?!"

Luca had just finished talking to Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak and his steward, Jorleif, getting his reward for taking care of a threat of bandits nearby. As he left the palace of the kings, he tossed the small sack of coins into the air and caught it again, grinning. The money was nice, but it was even better to know that he was working his way into Ulfric's favor, even without having to join his rebellion. His plan was to get around to all the Jarl's, finding favor in every hold, most especially Solitude, but he had other ideas all together for that city. He knew he could use his influence and power as a member of the Imperial Legion to gain the favor of the Jarl's, but that was a fact he often kept secret, and hidden. Jarl Ulfric wouldn't be very accepting of any Legion Officer, after all, and he had already learned so much from the rebellious leader. Grinning wider, he was glad he'd made the choice to come to Windhelm first. Pocketing his reward, he turned left, heading toward the docks. Though he hated the smell, and typically the people, it was an excellent place to hear rumors and gain useful information.

"No lizards allow!" a guard said behind a corner, then a thunderous sound echoes across the docks sounded like a Shout.

"FUS RO DAH!" the sound echoes followed by a splash of the icy cold waters. Soon a Nord followed by an Argonian came into view.

Luca stopped as he heard the sound. It sounded like a shout. Curious, he moved closer to see what was going on.

Bree had heard the shout, too. She was with Quintus. They'd spent the day together, and what a day it had been! They were on their way back to the shop where he worked when they heard the shout. They were within the city walls, but still it could be heard, echoing about them. It took them both off guard. Bree knew what it was, though she'd never heard one before. Curiosity got the best of her. She grabbed Quintus's hand, pulling him toward the sound. "Let's go check it out!"

"I, ah... I'm not so sure..." He replied, hesitant.

"Oh, come on, it'll be great! Where's your sense of adventure?"

"I'm not sure I ever had a sense of adventure..."

She turned to him. "Come on, Quintus, please?!"

He glanced behind him. "Nurelion will be missing me."

"Quintus..." She said, reaching out and stroking his cheek, bringing his attention back to her. "Nurelion will be fine without you for a few more hours." She smiled. "Just this once. For me?"

He still hesitated, a faint blush creeping into his face. "Just this once?"

She nodded.

Finally, he sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Alright. Just this once!"

Bree smiled wide, grabbing his hand again and pulling him along quickly. "Great! You won't regret this! Trust me!"

When they got to the docks a Guard was swimming back to the shore and out of the cold dark waters of the Sea. The Nord and the Argonian were walking into the doors of Windhelm passing by the on coming hoard of people trying to see what was going on.

"You really shouldn't have done that Artorias" the Argonian said.

The nord wave him off, "He was asking for it! He should have let you in!"

Luca only vaguely saw the guard swimming toward shore. His eyes were instead focused on an Argonian and a Nord who were entering the city. An Argonian entering the city was an unheard of sight. They mainly stuck to the docks. Luca couldn't hear what the two were saying, but he felt sure they had something to do with the Shout he'd heard. Quietly, he proceeded to follow them.

"Yeah but you really shouldn't have use your Unrelenting Force Shout! you could have killed him!" the Argonian said in a harsh whisper.

"No I wouldn't. He landed in the water" the Nord said.

"Not my point Artorias! You could have broken his neck!" he said

Luca continued to follow the two. He was now close enough that he could hear them. He grinned to himself as he realized he'd been right. The Nord had been the one who'd shouted. He was sure he could get a hefty sum by turning them in, but he'd wait. He'd continue to follow them and see what other useful information he could gain.

"Meh....Where is the inn in this place!" the nord called Artorias said passing by it about five times. The Argonian was standing in front of it with his head in his palm. Artorias was not the brightest of all the nords. Due to him living in the wilds of Skyrim for most of his life. Artorias was abandon as a child alone in the woods. He lived in the wilds for nearly 14 years. Until he came by his Argonian friend name Okan. Artorias is still naive like a child from time to time. Which is why Okan decided to travel with the Nord. To make sure he keeps out of trouble.....A task that seems to be impossible.

Bree watched the guard pull himself out of the water, a bit disappointed. She listened to others question him, but it seemed he was in no mood to discuss what had happened. "Darn! Looks like we missed all the excitement." She said.

Quintus sighed, obviously relieved. "I can't say I'm disappointed."

Bree shrugged, turning to him. "So, what now?"

"I really do need to get back to the shop."

"But I don't want this day to end! And once I part ways with you..." she paused to sigh. "It's as good as done for me."

"I'm sorry, Bree," he said, turning to her. She could see the concern etched in his eyes, and she smiled, feeling suddenly guilty for making him feel so sad.

"It's okay, Quint. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'll go to the inn and see if the bards are singing any good songs!"

Quintus smiled, and she was glad. "Perhaps I'll join you after work."

Bree couldn't help but grin. "I'd like that very much."

Meanwhile traveling just out of Windhelm was a Companion name of Silver the nord was walking in the furious cold winds of Mother Nature, "ACHOO!" he sneezed, "Man! If we don't get out of this weather soon I might become a icicle!" he remarked to his companion.

Meanwhile

Artorias and Okan walked into the inn where Okan left to pay for a room. Artorias was looking at the building in a wide eye wonder. Like a child seeing magic being use in the first time.

Bree moved into the inn and took a seat by the fire. Luaffyn was playing 'Ragnar the Red,' a song Bree had heard thousands of times before. Still, the song was catchy and she enjoyed it. She looked around as she did so, sipping her drink. She chuckled to herself as she took in everyone about her, recognizing them all. I've been hanging around Windhelm far too long, she thought to herself. Shaking her head, she stood, moving toward Elda to order a drink. After receiving it, she turned to head back to her seat, not noticing a Nord standing before her, staring wide-eyed all about him. Thus, she ran straight into him, spilling her drink. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, stepping back to assess the situation.

Luca silently entered the inn, still watching the two newcomers. He took a seat in a corner so he wouldn't draw attention to himself and watched as the Argonian paid for a room and the Nord starred about him in wide-eyed wonder. Had he never been in an inn before? Luca continued to watch, hoping to find out, when suddenly a Redguard woman ran into the Nord, spilling her drink and apologizing for the trouble.

"Huh" Artorias said as the Redguard bump into him snapping him out of being dumbfounded by the building inner structure. "Oh hello!" the large nord said not even noticing the mead that she spilled on him, "Nice to meet you!" he said as he wave in a friendly manner.

"Hello," Bree responded, shocked by his friendly reaction, yet also relieved. "My name's Bree. I suppose you must be new around here. I don't recognize you."

"Yep! Me and my friend just came here" Artorias said as he started to scracth his head as if trying to remember, "What is this place called again....Wind.....Windhelm? Yeah! I think that's right!" he said with a smile, "My name is Artorias yours?" he asked.

Bree couldn't help but smile at the Nord. "Yes, we're in Windhelm," she replied, then held out a hand to him. "My name is Bree."

"A nice to meet you Bree" he said as he took her hand with a good strong grip shaking it.

"Likewise," Bree replied, nodding. As the handshake ended, she stepped back, looking him over. "So, what brings you and your friend to Windhelm?" She glanced to her tankard. It was nearly empty from the incident, but there was a small drop left. She took the opportunity to enjoy what was there.

"Oh nothing much we're just visiting" Artorias said as Okan finally got their room.

"Oh yeah? So... where are you from?"

"No where" Artorias said, "Me and Okan travel the roads a lot" he laughed.

Bree nodded. "Sounds like a good life. Quite similar to mine, actually. Or, at least it was. This is the longest I've stayed anywhere in a very long time." She laughed. "Probably about time I moved on. I know this place far too well. So, ah, let me know if you need anything, alright?" She said before moving back toward the counter to order another drink.

"Bye" the large nord said as he went his own way.

"G'bye," Bree responded as the Nord left. Turning to the counter, she ordered another drink, then returned to her seat by the fire, once again listening to the songs the bard played. The warmth of the fire and the soft hum of the music lulled her to a state of ease as the exhaustion from the day finally weighed her down. It wasn't long before she was fast asleep by the fire.

Lillian crouched low, observing the bandits before her. They'd claimed the old fort as their own, and the Jarl of Riften wasn't too happy about it. Neither was she. She hated the idea of ruffians getting away with lawless behavior. If she was expected to obey the law, so were they. Besides, no one deserved to be treated cruelly at the hands of a scoundrel. Not in any way. Frowning, she felt her anger rising, which was good. It always helped to finish the job. She hoped she could sneak in unseen and merely kill the leader, cutting off the head of the beast, so to speak. The thought of killing all of them wasn't pleasant. Not that she couldn't do it, just that she'd rather not. Taking a life wasn't exactly thrilling for her. She couldn't deny that the fight was. But killing... it always tore at her. Though none who watched her lifestyle would ever be able to tell. She lived the life of an adventurer, earning money and her keep by doing odd jobs for people, as well as for the Jarls of the holds, moving from place to place, and never settling down anywhere for too long. It hadn't been her plan when she'd left home. She'd wanted adventure, sure, but she also wanted roots. Why she hadn't started any yet, she couldn't say, not entirely. So she lived as she did, helping any who needed it as she went on her way, not only to earn her keep but because it was the right thing to do. The idea of anyone suffering always set her blood on fire. Her anger returned as she remembered her mission. These bandits before her were causing much grief and pain to those around them, and she would end that. Careful not to let her anger get too hot, lest she act rashly, she hurried to a better vantage point.

Hawk was travelling back to Riften as he carried the pelt of the deer he had slain, "Man this is so boring....I wish there was something interesting would happen" he said when he stumble upon the fort that the bandits were using. A smile appeared on his face, "Well Well well perhaps this won't be as boring of a day as I thought it would." he said as he duck behind a tree putting down the pelt and meat he gain from the dear and pulling out his bow, "I'll sneak in there and see what these guys have and steal it before they would even notice" he thought as he put and pulls out an bottle of paralytic poison that was brew to restrict the movements and knock out a person. He pour some on the tip of his arrow before drawing it back with his bow aiming at the bandit that was overseeing the entrance and release the arrow hitting the man in the shoulder causing him to fall out. Hawk quickly but silently move into the fort.

Occ: Yay! your back!

Lillian's eyes went wide as she saw the bandit fall forward. She knew instinctively that he'd been hit with an arrow and instantly searched for the source. She didn't have to look far. Before she knew it, a young Nord was rushing into the fort. Frowning, she let out a growl. There was no way she was going to let him get her reward. Drawing a bow of her own, she hurried silently after him.

OOC: Yeah. Sorry for the long absence. Glad to be back at this!

Hawk silently and swiftly moved forward going unnotice by the bandits looting their supplies and searching for their treasure. "This is starting to become too easy" he whispered to himself as he dug through an chest full of gold, "Too bad I can't see their faces when they know they've been rob" he snickered to himself as he darted across the fort unseen going from room to room. Knocking out and hide the bandits that have seen him.

Lillian stayed in the shadows, watching the young Nord, as well as the bandits. It was easy to avoid being seen by all of them. Every now and then the Nord would be seen and he'd have to make a move. She quickly noticed that he only knocked them out and hid them away. She also noted that he seemed more into looting than any real fighting. She had to admit that that was the biggest perk to taking down the bandits. Stealing from them. She made more money that way than from the bounty she collected when she killed them, actually. It sometimes tore at her, but she reminded herself that the treasure didn't really belong to the bandits, and that she'd never be able to track down who it actually belonged to. Unless, of course, someone hired her not to kill but to retrieve a stolen good. As she continued to move silently through the old, rundown fort, she decided that the Nord was no threat to her. If he wanted to loot, she'd let him loot. She, however, would continue to go after her target. She continued to keep her eye on him, however, as she followed him deeper into the fort, where she felt sure her target would be waiting.

Hawk stopped as he was getting sneaking suspension that he was being follow, a smirk grew on his face as he pulls out an vial of a greyish liquid and taken a swallow of it. Intensely turning invisible as he wandering back. He was no master thief but he wasn't stupid either. He learn to trust his instincts through hunting an his moonlighting as a thief on the side. He continue going backwards until he found an Khajiit. Drawing his bow and pulls back an arrow behind her he broke the translucent barrier which cover his skin by the potion. "Well Well Well what do we have here?" he whispered loud enough for her to hear, "Didn't anyone tell you not to sneak up on people some may thing your a thief now drop your weapons and I won't kill you" he said.

Lillian let out a low growl, annoyed with herself. She'd seen the Nord take the potion and knew instantly what it had been. She'd listened hard, but he was careful not to make a sound. Still, she should have heard him, or at least been more prepared, and more than that, she'd allowed him to discover her.

"You're one to talk..." She growled, slowly moving her hands to the bow on her back and removing it, laying it lightly on the floor. She did the same with her sword, hoping she was moving slowly enough that the Nord wouldn't think she was trying anything funny. "But I assure you, I'm not here for the loot. If you'll just let me be on my way, you can have all that to yourself. I'm here merely to settle a score." She could feel her anger rising again as she thought of the bandit further in this fortress.

"Who are you" Hawk asked, "And why are you following me?" he asked

"I'm a simple wanderer, with a score to settle, as I said," Lillian replied. "I was observing this fort when I saw you show up. I merely followed you to make sure you weren't going to deal with the man I intend to make swift work of." She still couldn't keep the growl out of her voice, not only because she was angry at the bandit leader, but also because she was annoyed at the delay.
