Does your wireless/bluetooth portal eat through its 3 AAA Batteries like they are tic tacs, because mine does and I always have to replace them! It is getting pretty annoying! Does anyone have a way of fixing this (other than playing less of course )

Same here, I liked the wireless portal, but it was a battery chomper. I'm kind of glad they switched to the wired portal in that aspect.

I just obtained a regular giants portal from the battlegrounds set and I have been playing battlegrounds and the other games to scan my figures in, the giants portal works with all figures that the games support, even though, it is a giants portal. It obviously doesn't work with traps but I am not sure if physical traps are supported in Lost islands anyways.. It takes 3 AA batteries and seems to be doing fine with eneloops. 3 AAA batteries however is significantly worse, I find that pretty much anything that takes AAA batteries chews through them, as I haven't tried this portal I can't comment on it. AAA batteries are also more expensive than AA batteries at retail if you buy alkaline, so after paying for the portal starter pack you have to pay for a million batteries or make the investment in rechargables. Oh and you will have to buy a more expensive charger since you will need one that charges each battery individually (though you should arguably be buying this type of charger anyways), since you have 3 batteries instead of 2 or 4, as most cheap chargers will not charge unless you have 2 or 4 batteries in it, you can't charge 3. If you put 1 full battery in with another empty battery then it will not charge properly.
I am not sure why companies put 3 batteries in so many things these days, but it seems I also own a lot of things that take 3 batteries, making for uneven numbers around the house. Thankfully, I have a charger that can charge 4 batteries each individually. |

Simple get 8 rechargable batteries. One set for the portal, a back up set for the portal, and two for extras. The controler has yet to die on me so regular batteries are fine for it.
