I did this with lvl 1 no upgrades EE whirlwind and lost to chompy mage. nightmare mode is so intense

First of all, if you switch out your Skylander every time you level up, you'll eventually run out of figures (unless you're an actual collector), unless you completely reset them every time, which is incredibly monotonous due to the extremely large amount of XP Orbs that can clog the screen. The only thing you could do is guide enemies away from paths and kill them with ranged Skylanders, which is also boring.

Second of all: You WILL get hit. It's absolutely impossible to defeat Kaos on Nightmare Mode with a Level 1 Skylander and no villain/help from Magic Items without getting hit/defeated.

I tried this with Punk Shock back in the SSF days, things did not go too well

I was just about to post that, this "ultra" challenge seems to be a bit unclear,

The way I did it-

Take a lvl 1 skylander with no upgrades or coins. Only cores, Eon's Elites are an option
1 villain that is only used to unlock vaults
1 Trap master of each element only to unlock gates
No magic items
You can upgrade your 1 chosen skylander

Conditions of losing-
Dying
Using Villain or Trap Master in combat or changing your chosen villain
Must get 3 out of 4 stars, this means all but villain quests, switching, and time challenges

My line-up was
EE whirlwind
Wolfgang
Trap masters hardly matter but- Gusto, Knight Mare, Head Rush, Wildfire, Tuff Luck, Knight Light, Blastermind, Gearshift, Krypt King, Dark Snap Shot.

I totally concur with you, Matteomax. Besides, I prefer to battle Villains with maxed out Skylanders and trapped Villains. You always know exactly what to say in situations such as this.

You can always just go with what I did, it was very structured. I did fail very early on though sadly. I'm more determined now however.

Instead of kaos use EVOLVED KAOS, (THIS RULE MAY NOT BE BLOCKED BY THE LAW)

Why not, but totally unfun and a good way to be forever disgusted by the game.

I mean it's an horrible timeloss just to get enough gold or XP to get decent upgrades and finally beatten
by the chompy mage in one hit (who, for many players, will clearly be the final boss of this gamemode ).

I will certainly be repetitive but the time attack and score mode were great modes for superplayers who want
to surpass the game... they miss me so much

Its to add a lvl of challenge for veteran players. even though its insanely difficult, its also really fun

Its basically just a skylanders version of a nuzlocke. there's only so many things you can come up with

Using either Bumble Blast or a ranged Elite (preferably Trigger Happy) this is entirely possible.... Until either Chef Pepperjack or Traptanium Kaos. Pepperjack is a touch unpredictable and TKaos just takes forever to kill, making it real easy to lose.

I'd be up for this, if I wasn't on a cooldown for an Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke. That took enough effort for the time being thanks to that friggon Delta episode.
