So, just curious:

I have been selling through my stock of traps almost as fast as I can order them, with the exception of the water ones (which are barely selling and I now have a huge glut of).

Can anyone think of a reason that people aren't buying water traps like the other elements? Water is one of the 6-villan elements and I think most of the water villans are really cool, so I can't understand why those wouldn't be more popular.

I would say that it is because people get a water trap with the starter pack, but you also get a life trap, and the life traps are selling just as well as the others.

Any ideas?

Are you buying more than one trap for each element? If so, what motivates your purchases (collecting them all? purchasing only the ones that look cool? just buying a limited number for certain villans that you want?)

Hm... only thing I can think of would be that people are trying to get a trap for every villain like me and have already found six water traps.

Speaking of which, you wouldn't happen to have one of those Water Helmet traps, would you? 'Cause I've been looking for Wave 3 traps in stores and had no luck.

It think it's also due to the fact that you already get one water trap with the starter pack. A lot of more casual people probably only shoot for one or two traps per element, so the water ones are probably skipped over the most. My only question is why the Life traps aren't passed over equally as much...

But you're not alone. My local Target literally only has Water Traps in stock, and since they're filling up the space, they won't restock any more... I still haven't been able to fine the Wave 3 traps because of this. :/

Yeah, I guess because it's in the starter pack, and, I would buy the traps, but I'm low on money and am no longer getting funded for buying Skylanders, so I'm not wasting 6 dollars on a trap when I already have a trap from the same element. That and, most villains aren't worth money at all, and I usually only use Cross Crow as a water element, much less two of the same element.

Wave 3 stock is only recently starting to make it into stores. I got a shipment after Christmas that was still Wave 2 (grrr). I don't know what the hold up has been, but my Wave 3 stock isn't even coming in until next week (even though I know other stores have been getting it). You should be able to find one very soon with any retailer that makes regular orders from Activision, but if you have no luck in the next week or two, IM me and I will see what I can do for you.

I just found a Water Flying Helmet trap at Target, it was the last one there. Target and Walmart are where I find most of my traps.

Well, most people have on in the starter pack, and there are also all the sculpts out, so maybe it just seems that way by comparison?

How many are in a case versus other elements? I have noticed that water is mainly what I see, and pretty much the log trap (I believe that's what it is). It's not a very cool looking trap, so they get left behind. I was kind of bummed that was the one they used for the Outlaw Brawl & Chain trap.

One target I went to in Austin only had water logholders filling up the whole skylanders section except for a lone gusto. I have horrible luck in my state...
