How much does Gamestop pay for your Skylanders? [CLOSED]

I want to sell many of my old Skylanders. Now, I know they don't pay a lot lol they always make a nice profit, but even selling them for like $2 or $3 dollars each I would be fine with. Starter characters I assume sell for less while characters like Scorp might sell for the $3 dollar range? Anybody have any ideas or experience with this? I looked on ebay and prices range depending on the character from like $3 to $7 dollars and after fees and shipping that isn't a whole lot, that's why I would be okay with selling to gamestop for $2 or $3 dollars, just thought I'd ask.

Well, I tried Riptide, Lc Warnado, Jet-vac, S2 Slam Bam, and a couple others, and they didn't give ANY money for them. However, for someones Half silver painted S1 Sptro with no eyes, they got around $3. Seriously, What the heck?

They offered me about 15 cents per figure. I told them to forget it.

When it first started trade ins were OK as far as money back went but now it's pathetic. I wanted to trade a lone buzz light year which they sell used for 10 bucks but after being offered 1.25 it went back in my pocket for EBay.....

Just put them on ebay in a lot. You should be able to average $2 to $3 each if you have some of the more desirable ones in there, like the later released Swappers, light cores or even a Ghost Roaster. Honestly I think a lot of us here would love buy each others Skylanders at slightly more than gamestop trade in value, but I believe that this forum has a strict no selling/trading rule.

At first I expected to trade a Skylander for another lander, but no. I brought in one of my extra High Five's. And they said they would give me one dollar.

One. dollar.

No.

Doing trade-ins at Gamestop is an effort in loss. The only reason to sell things to Gamestop is to get quick money, and not much of it at that. It caters to those that won't make the effort to sell items themselves on eBay, Craigslist, etc. eBay is my first stop and I won't even attempt trading items in at Gamestop.

If your selling quite a few set up a stall at a local swap meet. You'd likely get you money plus some.

try this website

http://www.trade4cash.com/

it can give you about 2-3 bucks for each figure, but some variants can be worth $100 or more! they take traps, magic items, battle and level pieces, minis, and even infinity and amiibo!

I thought I posted about this weeks ago, but it must have been on another site. I guess this comment is for all of those people that complain about individuals selling their figures for more than retail price, etc. Gamestop started a policy at the launch of Trap Team to buy your old figures for cash or store credit. This applies to figures and games from SA all the way up to games and figures currently on the shelf. My 6 year old son and I have been collecting and playing together since right before Giants was released and over the years I have paid extremely high prices through EBay for some rare and hard to find chase varients. I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to sell some of my figures so I would not need to spend a lot more on TT. Let me tell everyone now, Gamestop will only offer you $1 for SA figures, $2 for Giants cores, 3-5 for the actual Giants, etc. They will offer this to you NO MATTER how rare your figure might be and will not accept any magic items, expansion packs, etc. For example, if you have an extra Ghost Roaster to trade or sell, they will only offer you $1 or $2 max. They will then turn around and sell these figures based on the current prices on EBay. That is why people are seeing some of these hard to find characters selling for $20 plus US Dollars. I am not complaining about this because it is all about supply versus demand. Just don't go in there expecting to get some great deal and if you are one of these folks who complain about prices on EBay, etc, Gamestop is now doing the same thing. If you don't believe me, go on their site and look up any used figure, no matter how rare, and they will tell you if any are in your area and how much they will charge for it. If you are looking to sell your figures or rare chase varients, you are better to sell them on EBay or through these forums. Just wanted to pass this info along to everyone.

There's always other used game stores you could try. (Examples found in the surrounding states where I live: Game Xchange (That place is better then Gamestop to be honest. They still have my boo the PS2.) and Hastings (Total. Nerd/Geek. Store.)) If there isn't any other used game stores in your area you could always sell them on eBay, probably would get a more handsome dollar for some of the rarer ones your wanting to get rid of on there anyway.

Seems like they lowered trade-in values.
