So, a lot of people have been asking me lately, "Mr. Wizard, WTF do gems do"? And I will be honest, there is absolutely no point in them. No one cares if you are a read sparx, or if you are a emerald sparx, or gold. We need to be able to use these gems in a more productive, better way. Sure, we can still have our diffrent ranks, just no based off of gems. I think, there should be a "shop" where you can spend your gems. You could probably be able to buy all sorts of things. You know what, how about we each have our own "lair" where we can put furniture, or items that we have purchased in the "gem shop". Decorate it, get diffrent tiers of homes. It would be AWESOME!!!!

Yeah, even though this sounds cool, Gems in my opinion should stay just a ranking on how long you have been here, or how active you are, but not to be used against someone

If they could be spent as currency, they would kind of lose their purpose,

I agree with Sess's idea, if this was implemented, it should be something such as "tokens",
