I've only done it once on Series 1 Pop Fizz, when I got him I guess I was pretty excited, I tore him off the package and I found the base stuck at the bottom. I had to get him refunded but the good thing is I got a good look at how the Skylandes work.

Activision would be out of business if they had to issue refunds to millions of customers who couldn't open their package. Am I understanding this thread?

Uuuuh... no.

I ALWAYS push them from behind, NEVER pull them.

Characters like Bat Spin, Torch or Chill seem to fragile, to me, to be pulled safely.

Exactly! But the worst skylander to unbox was BY FAR smilie. Her arm was INSIDE the plastic. I had to carefully cut the plastic. It was horrible.... But nothing broke smilie

Yes, I remember it was quite difficult.

Unboxing Knight Mare and the Light and Dark traps hasn't been easy either.
I had to cut the plastic bubble fo the first time.

I used to pull during Giants era. Like Drek says, I always tug a little from all sides until it "pops" out. That's the best and safest way not to damage figures.

I haven't damaged any figures or had to cut plastic on any. I will do a pull test to see if it'll pop out easy, if it doesnt with very gentle pulling then I push them out. the key is to contain excitement and be gentle with them, treat them as if they were glass.

I push the bases out from below too. That's the best way to do it if you're worried about breaking the base.

Unboxing Trap Masters seems more difficult than doing it with other figures. However, I actually choose to keep them sealed and packaged to preserve their resale value and/or keep them mint.

I admit I tried to pull some of the bulkiest Giants, like Tree Rex, Eye Brawl or Crusher, but the fear of breaking them was still too big, to complete the action... smilie

The only figure that has broken on me while taking it out has been a Legendary Bouncer. I'm surprised more people didn't break the bouncer taking him out he's really hard to get out.

Otherwise I think most of them have been easy up until these trap masters. I've seen several broken in store making me be extra careful taking them out of the box but yes i can see they'd break easily.

Shoots I seen a bush whack in the package just sitting freely in there and paint from the figure smeared on the inside of the package. Have to admit the light and dark traps were difficult to get out compared to the other traps and figures, sometimes it takes patience but there are those instances that make you think if they make it difficult for laughs

Ninjini, the figure came off the base, from curiosity I put the base on the portal, there is a little black box with a light in it, the rest was wires and LEDs,

Agreed by same token I find it difficult to foresee how a trap could get damaged from unboxing.
