Anyway, get ready for a long story.

So, since I have first period-when the Athletics people do their stuff-P.E. we have to do a bunch of random **** in the cafeteria or outside. So, we were supposed to do a relay race while jump roping. I was running in the hallway, when I somehow tripped and fell. And, when I looked behind me...there was a really hot girl...I started laughing at myself, and trying to shrug it off. I looked like a complete idiot.

Once while swimming with my friends, my bathing suit top came a little loose and it shifted and some.. things.. were shown. I'm pretty sure at least two of my guy friends saw it... Awkward.

IToday at the pool, a life gurad asked me to get something out of the water, it took forever because i was not wearing goggles, when I finnaly got it out...

It was a bikini bra! Or a swimming cap!

Here's a big one that I have never told anyone before. When I was 9 or 10 I walked into the bathroom at my great aunt's house because I forgot my shoes there and she didn't lock the door. She was naked... It was a really horrible experience to say the least.

I love these cultural differences between Finland and the USA. They're both western cultures, but in some cases they're like mirror images of each other.

For example, Americans in general are very social and highly value social skills. Shyness is mostly seen as something negative. While I don't know if they're true, I've even heard stories of american parents visiting doctors to get a cure for their kid's shyness. Most of you guys are open and talkative, even in public.
..But for some reason the idea of nudity completely freaks you the **** out (as exemplified by a couple of posts on this topic). I've never really understood why, I suppose it's just a big taboo over there.

In Finland we see people naked in saunas relatively often, and we're not weirded out by naked bodies at all. For example, I don't have many friends who I have not seen naked (I mean male friends, because girls and guys don't often go to a sauna at the same time). So, while it's certainly not normal to be nude, a Finnish person doesn't think of it as a big deal if they see your wee-wee or the bottom half of your left boob or something.
But then, one of the most awkward thing that one can do in Finland is to start a conversation with a complete stranger. There's just nothing else quite like that level of awkwardness, especially if it's in a bus or in a train, or somewhere where the other person is stuck having to converse with you. In many cases it's even considered rude, if the other person would've preferred to keep to him/herself.

So if any of you ever visit Finland, please never initiate small talk with strangers. Finns don't understand that. You might think that you're lightening up the mood or being polite or whatever, but in reality you're probably just ruining someone's day.

since we're going on about periods
when i was in like the 5th grade the bathrooms didn't have any feminine product bins and people were alwyas in the bathroom so i had to make an effort into wrapping a bloody pad in toilet paper and throwing it in the garbage without anyone looking :^)
*most of the time it didnt work*
