I'd think they'd probably wait until February, mainly due to the two Christmas variants being released in December of the same year their games came out.

No, he's coming out in January. I've seen another reliable member on here that works at TRU say the same thing. I'd quote the post, but I can't find it at the moment. It makes sense for him to come out soon, that way everyone that wants to get him for Valentine's Day has more than enough time to pick him up, just like the Christmas versions of Bumble Blast and Lob-Star came out late November.

I wonder if the variant toy will be of his series 3 'Fizzy Frenzy' repose, or a previous toy (say, series 1).

Because nothing says Valentines Day more than a snarling beast monster, even if he is coloured pink.

Im betting on series 3 in-game variant essentially. Also, I expect for the character NOT to say "Love Potion Pop Fizz" when placed on portal, judging how TfB handled coding for other existing in game variants.

In a Beauty and the Beast type of way. There's really nothing romantic about any skylander whos job is to kick your butt representing Valentine's Day.

I have a friend who works there and he printed off the sheet so I could see what the date was and it is 1/15/15....well unless they move it but that was the date on the confirmed sheet.

Not gonna make it, but maybe Saturday later on.

That's an odd day of the week. Releases are typically on Tuesday or Sunday. As well, it's a bad date competitively since DI has some figure releases on the 13th.

My question is with it being a date this week why are we not seeing any on ebay already.....

I agree...I understand this is a fan forum and some of you are excited for this release, but seeing as how much series 3 Pop Fizz is a shelf warmer, this release is an overkill of the character. There will be as much or slightly less interest for this among the general public as Springtime Trigger Happy (which was also in series 3 at the time of it's release and took a while to sell out in stores).

Regardless, there should be some schmuck with sticky fingers who works in stores who will look to take this and pretty much every future release Skylander, Amiibo, Disney Infinity, or other hot item and try to be the first to list on EBay to make a quick buck at the expense of the hardcore must-have-first collectors.

Yeah, I still see Winterfest Lob-Star, and even Jolly Bumble Blast out on shelves still. I don't know why they keep making these holiday themed variants when they usually seem to be the slowest moving characters.

That's all it will EVER be since Activision NEVER releases dates. My guess is we'll start seeing ads for this and then it will move from wishful thinking to actuality. Or - first hand accounts by fans here.

I can definitely agree that Pop Fizz has been an overkill. We now already have 3 Pop Fizzes. We picked up the first one with Giants, then my son got a S2 Pop Fizz from his cousin, and we ended up trading an extra portal for Punch Pop Fizz at GameStop. I was reluctant about the third one, since we already had two Pop Fizzes, but that was the version he really wanted. I was kind of bummed we had so many, because I really liked his sculpt for Trap Team. But I was putting my foot down on buying another one. But since we like collecting the variants, I'm really wanting to get it (and it gives me an excuse to get the sculpt). But it does irk me that they decided to release a variant of it, getting me to buy yet another Pop Fizz. I know I don't need to, but oh well . It's kind of like Springtime Trigger Happy. We already had two Trigger Happy's (and almost a third since I ended up passing on a Legendary version, which I never saw in the store). But I convinced myself that STTH was a cool variant.

And where did you see Springtime Trigger Happy after the initial release? I had a hard time finding them, period. I finally got one, but it didn't work. No one had them to trade it back in, so I had to deal with Activision for months to get a replacement. I later found one lone one hanging on a peg at a Walmart I don't normally shop. I figured it was a return or somehow found hidden in the store.

I really thought holiday themed variants were a good idea and were selling well. I didn't see Jolly Bumble Blast at all after Christmas when it was released. Springtime Trigger Happy was almost impossible to find in my area. Winterfest Lob-Star is more of a failure, I believe, because no one cares about Lob-Star in general (although he does seem to be a powerful character in game, he's horribly designed). Jolly Bumble Blast is only warming pegs, now, because they did a re-release of him for this past Christmas. That was the dumb move that they made. I guess they thought it would be good to get a few extra sales and make people happy who might be new to the franchise and wanted him. But people had moved on and didn't care about old variants. I'm hoping they don't do the same with Springtime Trigger Happy.
