I was playing Monster Marsh the other day as Snap Shot, and had about 700 coins and 1 upgrade for my regular bow. When I fought Chomp Chest, i mainly used the regular bow and after defeating him i had 2800 coins. So for those people who don't want to buy the earth trap (although it is really useful) this is the next best place to get money that i could find.

Another one is to go to Kaos Doom Challenge Final Finally Docks (the last one)
It's where i go to Level up and get Money for my characters at the moment For money I suggest putting towers in It's mainly how you earn alot of money anyway in that mode. Keep them the whole 20 waves and you should have over 20000 coins. For leveling up, For example taking in a Level 1 skylander in there, by the end you will be Level 20. This mode always works for me

Easy way, go to Chapter 11, Time Town and play skystone smash with the first house mabu. 2000 coins, boom.

I was going to say this as well. Bottom line, lots of different ways, so if it gets boring doing it one way...do it another. I still think Chompy Chest is most efficient. You might consider buying a skystone cheat for 200....that way you net 1800 in just a few seconds.

I would just edit my post but I was quoted....I meant chapter 12 Time Town, not chapter 11. Name of zone is right. |

Glumshanks gives 5000 gold for beating him in the final level of story mode, I'd suggest going there over time town.

I'd still rather level up my new Skylander figures before getting enough gold to purchase every single upgrades.

The characters are meant to be played with, at each upgrade interval (to get a feeling of the upgrades etc) while getting gold, and then incrementally upgrading. Anything else is just cheating yourself. I do however condone the quick method on minis and reposes.

Doesn't exactly take long to upgrade a character anyway simply by playing the later chapters, past 9 at least. Of course it's not exactly Sky Diamond + target dummy speeds but then what's the rush? It's about the journey, not the destionation, and all that.

Some suggestions is using the treasure chest and piggie bank magic items and a alternate villain to use is nightshade his basic attack leaves gold behind even when used on barrels and other destructible items that normally leave gold behind. Besides that what has been mentioned above good alternatives

It's not that hard to get to Level 20 in Kao's Mode. Upgrading them doesn't even play a factor in it.

Cash without levels make you a glass canon. You are also short changing yourself. Pick one of the 'middling' Kaos doom Challenges, pick a strong villain, Kaos if possible, if not, Golden Queen, Chef Pepperjack, or Hood Sickle. Then just try to beat the challenge without swapping, tag in a villain if low on health, you'll level so fast that you'll pretty much 'self-heal'. If it's one of the marshes, the bat coffins/out-houses are worth good money, make sure to break them. You don't need to do the higher and longer Kaos challenges, I find the money made is actually less in a "coins per minute" comparison, you still will get a brand new figure to level 10 in ONE challenge, along with enough coins to buy all their powers except a Wow-Pow and maybe their last power, oh and unlike say the "evil water pressure" style challenges, they are substantially easier without being boring like the early ones. You can even power level characters if you REALLY want to buy using a second controller. But ultimately, just cashing in doesn't do much, you want the levels too, and playing is...you know...the main point of the game. - Unreall |

Just get a Diamond magic item and go to Woodborrow in Swap Force.
Start attacking a dummy and drop Diamond on portal. If done correctly, you'll have 7000+ gold by the time time runs out. I did this using a turbo fire controller, Trigger Happy, and another Skylander as player Two. That way both characters get the cash.

Easier. If you go Swap Force, use Drobot. You can angle him so that 80% of his '4' laser beam attacks hit the dummy in front of him, while the other 20% hit a second dummy, where the character you are trying to level is located. The beauty of Drobot? You just hold the button, no turbo, no fancy setup, just put character A at the bottom left dummy, put Drobot at the top left dummy aiming down, get the angle right, drop the diamond on the portal, then hold the laser with Drobot with your left hand, while attacking the other dummy with your right hand. I've yet to see anyone get more coins than Drobot. Some aren't too far off, Pop thorn does OK, 'Drilla' does good, especially with a fast firing top like 'Magna' or 'Rubble', but not Drobot levels. You'll cake up ridiculously fast. However I still recommend Kaos doom Challenge as you get XP ALSO, so you gain levels...and its, well fun. - Unreall |

Except that the point of this was getting money for Trap Team Skylanders. This trick is good for Swap Force, but useless in Trap Team.

And if that character works in Giants, the "money at the top of the ship when you beat the game quit and reload" trick is even easier. But again, OT for a TT thread.
