I'll admit - im a complete and total noob. I bought a ton of skylanders and a couple of portals off of a garage sale site to give my almost 6yr olds for Christmas.
They've never played, I've never played - so, should I reset the skylanders? I did fire up the game and one at a time put the skylanders onto the portal just to see them.
Admittedly i dont really know what im looking at, but most of them seemed to be leveled up quite a bit - like at least to 10 or close. I also seem to understand that abilities are unlocked as one levels up.

Ultimately - my question is this: since we are complete and total noobies to the game - should i reset the characters before my kids get them (aka they wont know any different) or should i leave them leveled with their abilities?

Many thanks in advance....

Reset them, gives the kids more fun in the game and experience making their Skylanders more "powerful" as they progress on in the games.

I think that if they have upgrade paths already, reset them. Otherwise, you can always just take off a hat or change ownership.

I always reset when I buy used, I find it to be more satisfying if I do the upgrading and leveling up myself

I would reset them. You all want to enjoy the advancing of them and the choices you get to make.
