How to take apart a Skylander's base? [CLOSED]

I was curious as to what the RFID chips look like and thought I'd tamper with a spare figure or two, just for fun. Mainly I just want to know how to take off the bottom-most part of the base (the green/orange/blue/red part) so I can look inside. If I could figure this out, I may also be able to fix my Scarlet Ninjini figure that's been broken for months smilie.
EDIT: Am I allowed to delete this topic and paste it in Toys and Merchandise instead, or do mods have the ability to move it if they see fit?

Here's a guide which also has how to articulate them. After the base is off,probably you can pry it open with a knife or something.

You just need to notify a mod to move it there,though,no need to double thread post.

This sounds silly, but all I did was smash the base with a hammer.
The RFID chip is a circle, with a bunch of laser-etched lines. It's about as thin as cardstock.
Pretty neat looking, though.
