Can you have multiples of villains?

I asked in another thread, but never got an answer, so I thought I'd just create a new thread. I haven't played Trap Team, yet, as we are waiting for my son to get it for Christmas. I want to understand the trap system a bit better to help with purchases. Can you have multiples of the same villain if you have more than one of the right traps? Or would there even be a use for it? How does it work with two players?

One of the main reasons I'm curious about how those work is that I currently have an extra Kaos trap and was wondering if it might be worth keeping. Could we both play as Kaos if we both had him trapped? Would there be a use for a single player game to have two?

Either way, I was still wondering about how traps work with two players since you only have one slot. I figured it was answered somewhere, here, but wasn't sure where to look.

To be able to play all Villains, you need only 1 Trap from each Element. You can have 1 Villain at a time per Trap. You can switch the Villain in the Trap in the Villain Vault in the Hub. Having more Traps allow you to bring more Villains of the same Element when playing a level.

You can only use one Trap/Villain when playing in co-op. Both players can control it depending on who presses the Tag button on the controller.

You don't "need" two Kaos traps.

Like you, we are waiting for Christmas to unveil the new game. My understanding of the trapping process is that you can trap a villain more than once but it needs to be done from a different save slot. The other thing that you need to be aware of is, correct me if I mess this up those who have played, that if you do the task to enhance the villain, that info is saved for them in the trap itself. So to be able to take advantage of the added power that villain will need to be in the trap he/she was in when the task was done. Presumably, you could, through 2 memory slots, trap and have 2 Kaoses to play. One upgraded the other one not. Though I don't see a reason to do that. Hope I helped some.

this is incorrect, once defeated, Villains are loaded onto the traps from the villain vault, so it is possible to have, for example, Wolfgang on every undead trap that you own, all from the same save file.

you are correct about the evolved status of villains though, it is tied to the specific trap that you did the "quest" for them on. so if you wanna have access to Evolved Wolfgang on every trap, you need to do his quest on every undead trap that you have.
