I recently got in to Minecraft back in August, and my cousin and I are now running our own little server so we can build together. However, the server window constantly closes itself, and almost every time we lose some of our work we were doing right before it crashed. This usually happens every few minutes on most days. Is there any advice you can give to help make my server more stable? I run it on Hamachi if that helps. One more thing, it tends to crash more often when one one (or both) of us venture into an area of the server outside of our city, which is a tiny area we've been building on. If we go east of the city, it starts to crash, the world loads super slow, some trees are cut in half and stuff, etc. We call this area "Corrupted Canyon" because of that . Anyways, my point is that I really need to stop the server from crashing, especially in the Corrupted Canyon area.

My connection is just fine, I'm not much of a computer expert but my laptop runs fast, no viruses, etc.

The Corrupted Canyon is a corrupted chunk, if you go in the corrupted areas the server crashes, also thre is no way to tell if its corrupted befor e testing.

Corrupted chunk? How is it corrupted, or how can it get that way? Could it potentially harm my server permanantly? Either way, now the name fits lol. I guess I could put a some caution signs around the area, because after all the work we've done, I can't possibly delete the whole server. Also, how big is a 'chunk'?

So is there a way to fix it? More importantly, how can I make the server more stable as a whole?

I'm ok with the corrupted area. I mainly want to know how to make the rest of the server more stable. I heard it crashes for most people when the computer runs out of free RAM. I have no idea what this means, I'm not much of a computer expert.
