I was visiting and I can't remember whose it was, but I saw an island with like 30 fire shrines. How is that possible?!? I know you can go over the limit of 3 by winning them, but to win that many seems almost impossible.

If that is your island, please, enlighten me!

There was a very small period of time where you could buy as many shrines as you wanted from the store, they took advantage of that time.

You can still get shrines over your cap limit as prizes .

The OP says they know you can win more than the limit but was wanting to know how someone could get 30, as that seems like an awful lot to win.

I don't see how anyone could have 30 shrines, but I'm sure I've missed a few with toy link quests and other quests where I didn't have the companion, etc. I now have so many shrines and alt houses that they can't all fit on one island, so the magic shrines are slowly moving to the magic island. I may change that up and make my central island my shrine island and move all houses down to the magic island....

What about those discount gem package deals that sometimes offer a shrine ? If the person keeps buying the same deal over and over .

I have a total of 52 shrines, although they're not all on the same island. I have anywhere from 5 to 8 of each element. I've probably bought an average of 2 for each element, with the rest coming as prizes over the last couple of years. There's no real trick to it - just takes time and you have to wait for the quests with the shrines as rewards.

It wasn't 30 total shrines that puzzled me. It was over 30 fire shrines. The person had others as we'll, but that many of one element I couldn't figure out how they did it

Wow, yikes! Missed that part. Even with the short time you could buy unlimited, that would have cost a mint!
