Huts generate xp, gold, energy, and most importantly, gems. They are a good buy. However, if you are trying to save for a particular companion (especially Diggs), then it would make sense to wait. Diggs would probably be the only high priced companion worth it, though. All the others are great for their own reasons, but purchasing gem producers is your best bet. It may seem like it will take a while, but once you get enough going, your gem production really ramps up. I agree with the hall of legends...not really sure about Swap Houses and Trap Houses. I don't like the Swap Houses as they are best used elsewhere, but now that Trap Masters get double gold, as well (with the appropriate companion), Swappers aren't as valuable as they once were, unless you are using them for their Mt. Cloudbreak adventure. Now that I'm leveling up my Trap Masters, I'm using them more than swappers for adventures, sanctuaries, etc., but once I get them leveled up, I may change that back around and use swappers for adventures. That way I still get double gold, I can use the Mt. Cloudbreak adventure, and still keep them available for sugarbats. As we get more Trap Masters, we don't need to have them as available as swappers, especially if you know which traps you need. With sugarbats, you don't know which elements you will need, so I don't want them locked up in a house.
As for the birdhouse quest, I thought I might not get it since I was busy with Thanksgiving festivities. I only played maybe 4 times during the day and still got it. I got pretty lucky with the eggs from adventures. And luckily, I had two snack stands from another quest, so I was able to get them. I did come close to losing it as I didn't get my last play in until close to midnight. I will admit that I backed the time up a little because I wasn't sure if it ended at midnight or where I stood on the progress of the quest, but I realized I didn't need to. Even if I needed more adventures, I could have ran short ones or even used my adventure clock.
