****Sorry for the confusion its all good. I Didn't know if it was suppose to replace the Sanctuary...***
So this morning I completed the Tech Quest.
When I went to collect my Tech Sanctum,my Tech Sanctuary went missing.
Not sure if anybody else has this issue?
Ive checked in inventory and its not there either even tried logging out and back and still not there.

OH NO! Not this again!

I've still got one more day to collect from Orville. Hopefully this issue gets resolved quickly. Last time this was caused by the iOS update - wonder if it's a similar problem this time.

I'm suddenly happy I still have 4 collections to make to complete the quest...

I finished this morning as well and everything went normally. The new tech sanctum replaced the old tech sanctuary and all was good.

Completed this AM, new sanctum in place.

Then I tried to visit and BAM, it started my quest over again (20 Tech collection, 15 collections from Orville, all the missions) all to be doen in 5 days LOL.

Luckily my new sanctum was still in place (fingers crossed) but man that was scary!

So its suppose to replace it? As I see some other players have a Sanctuary and Sanctum.

Just got mine. No problems yet.

Heh now I'm torn. I have one last collection to complete the quest and the gold coin is on Orville's landing, so I'm literally a tap away. But I'm also nervous, I lost my game in mid October to a bug that forced me to restart, losing several alter egos and two Sanctums. I just got back to my original level in the last day or so.

Playing on an ipad, no other device, and the ipad is not updated to ios 8, largely out of fear of bugs/corruption of files.

Tips?

I usually keep a backup using Andydroid. its a Android device on for your PC.
andyroid.net/ I keep a copy 1 day behind incase something goes wrong or if my game gets corrupted
I had to start over 3 weeks ago but lucky I was only at lvl20 at that time.
Activision compensated me back with some Gems.

I kinda thought this was the issue you were having with your original post but didn't want to call you out. The Sanctum replaces the Sanctuary. You don't ever have both. I am not sure where you are seeing people who have both, possibly you are looking at it incorrectly. But the Sanctum is an upgraded version of the Sanctuary.

Now to everyone else freaking out, this was not an error in the game. Just a confusion with the OP.

Ok good, tapped and reward received and saved to cloud. So now I have the slimmer Sanctum, I assume the rewards from it are greater, though don't know the specifics.

As with the other sanctums, the gold and hero point payout is greater. I can't remember the base payouts (remember that payouts are based on Skylander level, so higher level Skylanders make move gold). I know I was pulling a little over 20,000 gold with a high level Skylander, but now it's around 40,000. Maybe someone else can share the actual payouts. All my sanctuaries are being used, right now. I may be able to find out when I collect later.

Same for me. All went as it should.

I quickly reloaded my old Tech sanctuary and harvested as it upgraded to the sanctum

Forget greater rewards, the 2x2 Sanctum is way nicer than the 5x5 Sanctuary. Now we'll be able to fit all eight sanctums on two small islands. Well, come December 20th we will.

That is a pretty looking tech sanctum . One more left to go . Wow we have been kept very busy this year with all these sanctuary upgrade quests .

Not sure what happened to me. Got my sanctum, and it is still there (whew) but it seems like the last week or so of quests all got wiped. I am re-doing Chopper sheep quest, Surfer Slam Bam just completed the quest AFTER Icicle Island and now he has to go back to II...

The completionist in me says GRRRRR, but,
the Frugal Bastage in me says Woo Hoo! More free gems!

Yes my game was corrupted and had to create a new ID SpinCycle2 is the good one. you can delete the old one. been trying to recover as quickly as possible. taken 3 weeks to get to 30.

I finally got a chance to look it up. Here is the break down:

Sanctuary: 450 hero xp base gold: 18,000
Sanctum: 650 hero xp base gold: 25,000

I say base gold because the higher level the Sklander, the more gold you get. I'm not sure if there's a max level that peaks it out or if it goes all the way to level 15. I know if I put a level 15 in each, I get 28,800 from a sanctuary and 40,000 from a sanctum (luckily we still have the water sanctuary for me to test it ).

Here are the payouts, based on the level of your Skylander (including columns for +25% bonus Skylanders):

Yep, and if you have Gorm & Tuck or Buzz or Gigantus you then want to preferentially use those types of skylanders is my assumption. Based on what people here have told me anyway. Before Buzz showed up it was swap-swap-giant or swap-giant-giant if I had them, with an alter ego or trapmaster in second or third slot if I didn't. Now since I have Buzz and G&T I tend to fill purely with swaps and trapmasters.

I feel so sorry for the cores being overlooked because of no percentage bonus . They should have more companions and fancy production houses for cores .

Yeah, I feel I hardly use my cores (especially non-special cores). About the only thing useful for them are the HQs that aren't really worth buying with their low payout.

My cores are usually attacking trolls and sheep and picking locks if they match the element of the day . Menial stuff . Dragon cores i suppose are taken care of if you buy 8 dragon houses for them .

I have quite a few favorite cores that makes it very tempting for me to want to buy a bunch of those low paying houses regardless of weather its a good idea or not .

I'm with you. Shroomboom, for example, is one of my most-used Skylanders. He doesn't get any bonuses or do anything special, but he's a favourite, so he's going to be used. But it also depends how you look at it. My alter-egos are all always tied up in their houses/huts, so you never see them just wandering around the island, or, as my daughter says, you can't "play with" them - meaning pick them up and move them around. The cores do a lot of wandering.

Thats the other side of this coin . Houses that cater to a specific group and not an exact individual are far more attractive . I like changing them around to kill the boredom . So far all i have is a whisper elf house and yes she is trapped like a villain .

I find house-loading to be a chore, so I'm personally not interested in houses for every (or really any) core skylanders. The #1 fan bonuses don't move the needle for me either. Between Alter Egos, Trappers, Swappers and Giants, I have more than enough other characters with even better bonuses to fill up the sanctuaries, etc.

I frankly may be running out of steam with this game. I've been slow to finish my sanctum quest and really haven't been keeping up with houses, etc. I've also started playing other games (none of which will have the longevity this game did, but they're more interesting to me right now.) Could the end be near for me?

Well, unless they start new monthly missions next year, there really won't have anything new to do other than getting the Alter Ego of the month. I started in August and I'm running out of the other quests already(that aren't to buy more toys), and don't see myself coming back much once I finish decorating when I can check for news here.
