Just got an email saying everyone can play trap team on this day, plus other skylanders suprises! Maybe this why they were saving kaos trap for this day at most stores!

I'm going on that day....out of curiosity. Mainly for the Surprises.

As of right now it is just you can play the first lvl of TT with Xbone and tablet version, and the kaos trap will be for sale, (i am the department supervisor for rzone at my local store )

Im taking my son for it. He has the game but i know just being there and all he will have a blast.

Will the kaos trap be available when the store opens or only starting at noon?

First 100 people who go, will get a free Skylanders Trap Team lanyard which can hold a Trap in it as if it were a necklace.

Yes, waste your gas on all these separate days. That is your reward for buying everything skylanders. I understand the concept of getting people to your store on different days, increasing the likelihood that they will purchase something they didn't intend to, but this doesn't work on me. I only buy skylanders (and sponge bob square pants ice cream bars which they never have).

Well, there's nothing for me on Saturday... just seems like a crazy plan...

yup...sitting this one out....might call in to my buddy to walk in for a lanyard but no new release = no gas spent on my part ( my buddy lives a block away from TRU )

I went to a TRU yesterday to try and find out more about Skylanders day. After waiting a half hour to talk to the electronics guy, who disappeared as soon as I walked over there, I gave up. I read the ad and in the fine print under the Skylanders day part it says "All giveaways and event materials distributed to participating CHILDREN only." I'm 26 and I don't have kids yet, so I'm going to assume that they aren't going to give me a lanyard.

Will this event be at all TRU stores or just happen in the big stores?

DobermanOwner, I know how you feel. I'm 45, single and no kids....total bliss.
I'm still going, because I use public transportation. That and it's near a Target, Walmart, GameStop and Best Buy. So I check things out.
It's too damn crazy where I live today because of this weekend's dealing with the other half of Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, because yesterday and today is Blizzcon. And for the closing ceremonies, they went all out and got a Hall of Fame heavy metal band (which Blizzard announced on their site)........METALLICA!

I'm 23 but still plan on going. That store has gotten way more money from me than any child when it comes to Skylanders.

I went early this morning so I could get a Kaos trap and they didn't even have them up yet, they guy had to get them from the back.

I also saw the lanyards, they're pretty neat and I kinda want one but as stated it was kids only which bites because I collect lamyards and having a skylanders one would be amazing

Yea I don't get the kids only thing. My money is just as good as any one else's. Actually, we, as adult collectors, probably spend more money than an average parent who tells their child they can only pick one or two figures per wave. We're the ones who are out there buying everything.

The same with the Lego builds. If they ever tell me I cannot have a set, I will immediately drop all the merchandise I planned to buy and walk out.

Anyhow, I'm still working on tracking one down. Would like to see a picture of one though. Those of you who have seen them, do they look cool?

The 'kids only' rule is probably so scalpers don't arrange to meet in one, get everything, and sell whatever they get for profit. Wish there was a way for adults to get the prizes too, but can't think of anything which wouldn't exclude the kids or make the adults feel like they're being questioned for playing the game.

Plenty of Kaos traps on the pegs at my local true. I do not know if anyone has noticed but some of the Kaos traps have a matte finish and some have a gloss finish. More than enough to take your pick or get both. The finish did not matter to me because I will be cutting off the top of the trap to make my Kaos playable figure since I already have a Kaos ultimate trap.

My store gave my son a lanyard and then gave me one, as well. I didn't even ask for it. The guy sees me in there all of the time and I think he wanted to get rid of them. They still had a ton of them when we went at around 1:00. If you are not a child, you might get lucky by showing up and asking.

No lanyards at our store and only 1 tablet was set up with the game to play.

Hah! Don't even get me started with Lego. They seriously piss me off by excluding me because I'm 29 with no kids but a huge Lego fan. And you gotta love how Merlin Entertainment (the company that Lego licensed Legoland to) has a policy that automatically brands all childless adult fans as pedophiles. I think they forgot that we're the generation that made Lego and all of their billions. Do you ever manage to get the free builds at events? I never get one....

You don't have to cut it, it comes apart right where you need it to with a little persuasion!

We've gotten most of the Lego builds we've gone for. We missed out on the Lego Movie car and the last Batman thing because we were too late. But IMO, if I'm too late, that's my own fault. :-P

Well getting a few kaos traps to sell was a bust, but got a hand full of lanyards! Love the way they have skylosers on one side, and villains on the other ;-)

I can't tell from your picture, but are your lanyards straight (so the material lays flat against each side without twisting) mine is sewn wrong. I hate that, it reminds me of a twisted seatbelt.

My store didn't have chaos traps out. I asked at the front desk about them at 10am and they told me they wouldn't be putting them out until the event started at noon. I went back at noon and they said they never got them in. Another guy said they had a box earlier in the week and they were gone. I've been in there and asked almost every day. Good news is they sold me the jawbreaker comic and trap a day early, bad news is that they had it last Sunday and didn't let me get it then. I thought it was funny that the girl let me get the comic a day early but was making me wait an hour or two for the supposed chaos trap (not funny when they ended up not having them like she said they did). Even funnier when I consider that they wouldn't let me get the comic a week early, but gave it to me a day early and the same store let me get L Deja Vu 3 weeks early, but was going to make me wait 2 hours for the Chaos trap. I don't get angry, I just laugh.

The local TRU had a couple lanyards left over after the event, they said I could take one. Hopefully they weren't on hold for anyone :u
The lanyard has Food Fight/Wallop/Snap Shot on one side, and Kaos/Wolfgang/Chompy Mage on the other.
The reverse side is the same, so it shows both heroes and villains instead of just one group. I think it would've been cool if they had a flippable hero/villain side, but free is free.

Traps fit snugly in the loop, but they're top-heavy so they sit at a downward angle. The idea is very neat, hopefully they make more lanyards like this/give them in future events.

@ 7Habits... Mine are twisted also, I think so it goes around your neck properly... That's cool you got jawbreaker micro pack, it doesn't come out for another week..

I thought it came out tomorrow. Looks like I'll have to go back tomorrow for the Blades one if I've got them backwards. Now that you mention it, they must have just got the Jawbreaker ones and put them out by accident, because last week they only had whatever the first two weeks were and wouldn't let me get the second one. That makes my store even more confusing, because The Blades micro pack still wasn't out, but the other two were.

Yes, Blades is the second one and Jawbreaker is the last (Of the 3).

Pick up blades micro comic and trap.. My TRU had a box of lanyards which said Free, have one! I have 3..
