there's been two gamergate topics and they've both been removed, what gives? the mm said it was removed for being off topic? what

I'm curious as to why Gamergate discussion wouldn't be allowed here. This forum and its users have shown themselves to be mature with discussions more controversial than this (I think Gamergate is being blown a bit out of proportion) so I don't see the problem with a thread about it.

My guess, a mod who, instead of doing his/her job and taking care of individual posters who need to be addressed, he/she is just shutting down the entire conversation. I keep seeing this happen around here...

My topic was deleted because I said Anita Sarkeesian needs to shut her mouth.

There was a legit conversation going on in the topic though. I understand my post being deleted but the topic? Dumb.

It's odd since I'm fairly certain Dark isn't a part of the big bad gaming media circle, and probably doesn't give a **** anyway.
And I don't imagine any mods who would go out of their way to delete these conversations.

That's not really how it works. If the OP breaks the rules, you can't just delete that post; the whole topic has to be deleted. If you want to start actual GG discussion (and by all means, please do) then you should probably start it with... Actual GG discussion.

Isn't there some function to split the posts? I've seen it in other places where a franchise's thread got too specific or too general, and they decided to move all "offtopic" posts to a new thread or one that was made in the past.

True, but there wasn't really a "split" where you could create a second topic.
