So I traded in a few games and had £16 on a gift card.
I am on a limited budget this time round so I first want to get Skylandlers that will help me unlock in game content.
My wife went shopping and I gave her the gift card and asked her to pick up a Trap Master (£13.50) to unlock the elemental gates.
She returned with the Hijinx and Eye Small Mini's saying I got two Skylanders for same price as a one, so she thought better value for money.
All though I needed them for my collection I wanted to get them later as they don't unlock in game content unlike a Trap Master.
I was a little disappointed, knowing how hard it is going to be for me this time to pay for them. Am I being ungrateful?

cant you just take minis back to the shop and get a trap master instead?. im sure your wife will understand if you explain why you wanted a trap master.

At least she got Skylanders that you didn't have, and that they were Skylanders.

Arf same for me, my wife was very insistant to get bop and terrabite.
Since I already got S1 bash and S1 terrafin they are vitualy useless but she enjoys a lot playing them. I can't blame her for having fun with those cute things. Personnaly I find terrabite very hard to play, especially for hitting foes

I don't know if I would call it ungrateful, as, well, I would act/feel the same way...
My plan was pretty much the same as yours, and I think it is ungrateful, I guess, I don't have those characters, I have Terrabite though and I know how you feel when people get the wrong thing, especially when they don't unlock content, Like the other guy said, maybe you can return them? I know some stores are a little uneasy about returning skylanders, but it's worth a shot Anyways, just be glad you even have Skylanders, and to level up Hijinx and Eye-Small |

Eh... ungrateful, maybe. Perhaps a slight immature (I'm assuming you are a man due to the fact you used the word "wife").

It really depends on how you handle the situation. If you flip out or have an attitude about it, then yea you'd be both ungrateful AND immature. If you explain what it was you needed and why, then just thank her anyway and return it for a trap master who can open gates, then I'd say no. It really all depends on your attitude and how you handle it.

Jeez, never ask the internet for an opinion. You're not being ungrateful, my wife returns stuff I buy her all time. It's the thought that counts, really. You're not immature, either. (Why any of these miscreants would call you immature is beyond me, but then, who the hell cares anyway?) You need something to expand the content of the game, so that's your call. As a grown man, you don't need anyone's permission or approval.
Seriously, don't ask questions like that on a site with so many children.

I guess you're right. I'm 17, but I just find it weird when I see so many grown men on this website for some reason. Maybe I'm the immature one, IDK. |

I say don't worry about it. Explain to her perhaps about the functions of the trap masters and explain you'd like to take them back to exchange.

First off, I did find a place in the academy - the library -where you need the minis to get the coins. So technically they are needed if you want to play everything.
To answer your question, so long as you show gratitude for your wife doing you a favor, and then explain she didn't get the one you wanted because YOU neglected to write it down or to tell her exactly which kind you wanted (i.e., it was your fault not hers that she got the wrong one), I don't consider that ungrateful if you later go back and exchange what she bought for the one you need/want. It's like if my husband asked me to buy him something at the store and I brought home the wrong flavor because he didn't tell me which one, how is that ungrateful of him? He still says Thank You, and he would still buy ME something from the store if I needed him to. Marriage is a partnership, not an obligation. Any parent will tell you why they keep gift receipts for every Christmas gift they buy their children every year. It's not ungrateful children. It's that parents don't know they bought the wrong one. Why else is December 26 the second busiest retail day of the year? |

Why can't your wife follow simple instructions? I'd get a new wife. Ask her to buy you new underware and she buys you a belt...The solution is obviously to buy your own things. She probably did it on purpose, like the "hold my purse" thing. If you set the purse down and walk away from it, your wife will get angry but will probably think twice about asking you to hold her purse again.

Probably an simple mistake. It's not ungrateful or immature. Be thankful that she was willing to do this for you and changed it up thinking it was a better deal, again for you. If you need to, return them.
Whenever my wife asks me to get something at the store and it makes my mental list greater than 3 items, I write it down. And I really tried to resist this topic, just doesn't feel like the place.
