You know, that one...

...that perfectly appropriate mixture of sounds and notes, etched into your heart in a time far gone. Surrounded by people that would later hurt you, and for whom you no longer exist in their universe. In a building later torn down and swept away, no trace to be found underneath a new, taller one that gazes down in condescension, vaguely aware of your irrelevance.

And all that's left is the hard-pressed emotion, like paw prints in concrete or the smell of dark grey clouds; so crushingly strong, yet from someone else's life, somewhere else's tears.

Pray that feeling never fades away completely, all the same.
