I've read a lot of people on here say that they won't release a patch for this game because they can't patch the Wii version, but I have a thought and a theory... First of all, the game updates as soon as you put in the disk and go online (the reason why it says Ver 1.0.1 when you start it up, it would say 1.0.0 otherwise).

Now, it's true that they can't patch the Wii version (as far as I know) BUT the Wii version also comes with a free download of the Wii U version which CAN be updated. Obviously, they didn't just do this for no reason. My theory is that there will be a patch/update (and possible DLC? - that part may be wishful thinking) in relation to the Light/Dark elements and the way they are making up for no update to the Wii version is that they are giving them a free upgrade to the WiiU version which can, in fact, be updated.

It would also shed some light on why the light/dark elements are there from the start for the 3DS version - it won't get a patch like the rest.

Feel free to shoot me down if you have some evidence to the contrary, but it seems like they would have to update it in some way for the "unknown element gates" to change or the "unknown" villains... unless that "update," so to speak, came somehow on the data with the light/dark figures (which seems farfetched).

You have a point there; there could be an update for the light and dark elements when they are finally released.

there will be no patch, they gave you the wiiu version for free so you could go buy the wiiu. also all the other version have had the patch already... and the game bug/glitches ratio that is now, is acceptable for activision. the game will never be 100% free of bug/glitches and releasing a patch is costly. so that is that, period...

The first time you place a new figure on the portal, the game creates a checksum in the figure, thereby "initializing" it, so to speak. Most likely scenario, the first time the game initializes a light or dark Skylander, that will tell the game to remove the question marked content, no need for a patch. I don't really know anything about programming, but that seems like an easy enough way to do it.

Also, 3DS games can be patched, so it doesn't really mean anything one way or the other that light and dark are in it from the start. Wii can't be patched, so basically that prevents everyone from getting patched.

correct, the content is locked on the disc and the figure is the key....

That, however, doesn't mean that the game won'tl receive patches, in other versions, to simply fix the most prominent bugs.

That's not proof, Count, that's more like an opinion. Don't make up claims you don't have official proof to.

If they are going to make patches for the game, they'll post them.

Can we just get his IP banned or something? They moderate threads if you mention that program we're not allowed to mention, but rampant asshole-ism as allowed to be, well, rampant.

Unfortunately, you cannot just ban an user every time he acts like a child for something...
We all act like "babies", sometimes.

Moreover, banned users often return as other IPs, and they just keep coming back, ban after ban.
