What is the best ranged skylander for trap team? I want to attack kaos but first i just need the skylander that can like hit him from far away.

I know you said "for Trap Team", but you might want to take a good long look at Drill Sargeant. You can soften Kaos up some and then switch to someone else to finish him off.

If by ranged, as in good at attacking enemies and Villains not to close to them, I would choose Snap Shot, Gearshift, and other Skylanders with projectile attacks.

Snap Shots bow path has been really good to me so far for ranged

but Snap Shots bow and arrow aren't that strong, I would prefer Lob-Star even if I don't have him by myself (and don't forget to boil him)

Oh, yes, it's absolutely horrible that they are holding back better characters for later Waves, just like they did with the previous three games.

My guess kaboom will be the best ranged character and thus the lasy trap master to be released

I've heard Torch is OP.

My best ranged are Drobot / Drobit ...

Not much damage per hit but fast and agile ..........

Maybe Lob Star if you have him!

Chopper, with soul gem, on his missile path. Kill everything. My wife loves him.

Hmmm, based on available Trap Team choices I'm going with Deja Vu and Lob Star. They both have great ranged power and additional utility.

This. Chopper has missiles that auto-target. Really, you barely have to aim. Plus if he's flying, none of Chaos' laser sweeps hurt him.

Deja Vu is kind of annoying as spawning a double has a rewind mechanism that is "disruptive" to your control/flow.

Otherwise, Lob Star is my go to trap master for ranged attacks...when I'm not playing with Chopper.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned some of the villains (even though the OP specified Skylanders in the title).

Threatpack's missile barrage dishes out a lot of damage, and they also home in on enemies.

Dreamcatcher's Dream Tornado does a lot of damage, but is difficult to aim.

Wolfgang's Harp Solo is also very powerful.

Someone else mentioned her, but, as an avid fan of ranged skylanders, I would offer up Gear Shift up as the best ranged character so far. My reasons are threeform: 1) On her ranged path, her third shift is a non-stop barrage. 2) The attack spawns dozens of caltrops that damage enemies that press towards you. 3) Her cartwheel attack is fast, and great at getting her away from the action, so that she can continue peppering enemies from a distance. She's an excellent character.

In terms of Skylanders, I'd say Gearshift on her Fraction Mode path. In terms of villains, I'd say Threatpack.

Gearshift or Chopper.

i know, but im not that worried anymore i defeated kaos with 100 skylanders.. no strategy skills involved just put them on, and smash the buttons like a five year old with sugar rush. then your done in no time...

How about using Chopper or Snap Shot, instead?
They are quite effective, against him.
