And when you place it in portal slot, it appears on the screen differently..

I think the dark edition trap has a longer timer than the regular version I got the dark edition of trap team and recently found a regular kaos trap left it in the package if I find another one I will test out my therory

Ok so basically the differences are:
1. The traps have different start up animations when placed in the portal
2. The Ultimate Kaos trap has a longer timer than the regular
3. The appearance of the traps. The Ultimate Kaos Trap (the trap from the Dark Edition pack) is a lot larger and has silver decals on the face.
4. Obviously the way in which you get each trap as the regular Kaos trap can be bought, while the Ultimate Kaos trap comes in the dark Edition Pack.

NOTE: The regular Kaos Trap is considered one of the rarest traps as there is only 1 or 2 in each shipment of traps to a store, so I recommend you look out for it even if you have the other Kaos trap.

Totally forgot about the timer thing. I am rapidly not giving a flip if the in game recognizes it or not. Do we have video / concrete proof on the timer?

Not that I have seen, however many people have been stating it...

Ultimate Kaos Traps are much rarer than the originals. However, regular Kaos Trap single packs are VHTF in retail stores nowadays. It's as if every single Portal Master wants to play as the most evil yet moronic being in Skylands.

I really don't think it has a longer timer then the regular version. They seem the same to me. Has anyone tested this at all? Or even the 3 legendary traps?

Think of it as a variant. They show up differently in the collection screen but they ultimately function the same thing.

I've actually never had a problem finding the regular Kaos trap in stores. I never bought it cause I bought the dark edition but I noticed that at rare times people are paying as much for the normal kaos trap as they would have for just buying the whole dark edition in the first place.

They should have called the Kaos Traps as followed:

Kaos Trap of Evil Doom (Original)
Ultimate Kaos Trap of ULTIMATE EVIL DOOM!!! (Ultimate)

Kaos is so overusing the words "ultimate", "evil" and "doom" a lot, but I guess those are his most favorite words in the whole wide world.
