without a trap there is a gem cost

35 sounds right - it was fairly low, so I went for it. And I have lost count of how many Sugar Bats I have had since activating Buzzer Beak. I have had tons of invaders - a very noticeable difference when he is around.

maybe a bit more, but I was frustrated. I DID get more invaders. But with 3-4 different skylander missions to clear chompy pods and troll camps--I kept getting sheep mobs and sugar bats!

I feel your pain!

I don't know if I *want* this one lol, I am constantly clearing invaders. I swear as soon as I leave one island and go back at least 2 sheep mobs and a troll camp are sure to spawn. I can't even imagine it with more. I got cape girl so that has made it less annoying at least !!

And I check in several times per day normally

Hmm boosting invader count wouldn't really boost gem harvest would it?

I bought him using gems as well. It was definitely lower than 35; I think it was like, 12? Maybe I'm just crazy

Trapping him and Pain Yatta at the same time could give quite the gem haul.

I trapped him once and I didn't notice too much difference with sheep and trolls, but I had sugar bats coming out of my ears. So, at least in my case, he more than paid for himself.

Good data point, I had gotten in the rut that it would be only trolls because of the troll camp picture in the description.
Of course he's a tease, he shows up when I have no traptanium, then I get some and make a trap and now he's not around.

He shows up again his feathery butt is trapped.

I had him and Pain Yatta pop for me yesterday AM. No magic trap of course. I grabbed Beak just to fill in his picture, and wound up filling my entire center island (which I keep half open) completely, and then some. If I could have caught Yatta it would have been a nice haul of gems.

edit: Forgot to mention, I caught Chill Bill either shortly before, or after those two showed up. With his insta-open chest perk, this was the perfect storm of bad guys. I doubt I'll see THAT happen again. SMH for them not releasing a magic trapper. >.<
