My son and I just beat Kaos on hard difficulty. Man, that was difficult ! We went through all the magic items and we have them all, and 87 Skylanders. Yup 87. Just wondering how some of you faired?

Yowzah 87? I have yet to play him on hard... but I will. Man, If it took you 87... then I wonder what nightmare is like! The most i've ever lost in a level was 29, so I defiantly had quite a few left over In Swap Force, I beat Kaos using only 4 Skylanders, though mutiple tops and bottoms. Sorry I haven't gotten there yet ( as I don't have the game yet) but I hope you can beat him in Nightmare!

It took me 10 on hard my first time, and 26 on nightmare my first time. At this time, however, I can get Kaos to his final phase with only 1 skylander, and it is a matter of time before I actually defeat him with only 1.
His attacks are just like bullet hell shumps, something TFB is actually good at. There is always a pattern to dodging, it just takes time to get used to it. Its been roughly 40 runs and I still have yet to beat Kaos on nightmare with only 1 skylander. This fight is more an endurance test of skill than anything, as getting Kaos to his final phase with Bumble Blast takes 10 minutes, and his final phase, due to the limited time you have to hit him, can easily be another 7 minutes to my estimations.

My 9 and 10 year olds tag teamed him on hard, with about 25 skylanders including 14 trap masters and a few trapped baddies.. Took them about 15 minutes.. Btw, now it's time to bear him WITH him on nightmare they say!

Part of theproblem for us was when 1 of us died and you put another skylander on the portal it was hard to figure out where we were and if you are in the middle of a jump, forget about it. If im not mistaken, it took us about 1 hour and 45 minutes to beat him. Thats from the very beginning of the level to the end.

I defeated him on Hard, and I only used Wildfire and Golden Queen (first time).

The Skylanders I found to work the best is any ranged character with a degree of homing (Bumble Blast, Zoo Lou, Hoot Loop, Popthorn) or a ranged char with a large dps output (Drobit/bot spring to mind). Melee characters are mostly useless after the first phase. As for magic items, I'm unsure, I have a bunch, just haven't actually used a single one in Trap Team.

On hard it took about 25 Skylanders. I'm sure it would have been less had I managed to level them up more. I miss the days of 300% XP for owning lots of them.

The difficulty I actually found fair. I only used S2 Camo, Zap and Blades.

20 on hard mode, but some of those barely lasted being placed on the portal. The bulk of the work was done with only 3-4.

My boys used over 50 on hard. It's a good test. A few varied attacks would have been nice, but it's good to see a tough final boss battle.

I used crusher and cross crow

Yeah, I lost track after the first dozen or so :-p If anything, the Kaos fight made me realize how few Skylanders I've leveled up significantly over 4 games. Only Blast Zone was at Level 20, some giants and Swappers were around the Level 15 mark...anyone 12 and under Kaos tore through in seconds. Even with Golden Queen's turret for chip damage. Of course, now that I actually have Kaos on my team, the rematch should go differently...

14 trap masters??? must have doubles of some?

I used one to beat him on normal.

every other game takes my 10 at most.

on nightmare I used 39 skylanders and 9 magic items.
