....what story line will the Spyro universe follow next? As far as I know, there are four possibilities.

1.) Continue the story after Spyro 5: A Hero's Tail.
2.) Continue the story after Spyro 8: The Legend Of Spyro: Dawn Of The Dragon.
3.) Continue the story based on one of the platform games.
4.) Come up with a new story line and make some games for that based off of that story line.

P.S. If there already has been a topic about this, please tell me and give me a URL of it so that I can close this topic appropriately.

I believe they will continue the idea of the 'legend' series. They already did a bit of foreshadowing with it.

I hoped that they'd redo ETD but no sequel then go on with about two more games of AHT but I think they'll finish with the LoS series first before bouncing back to the oldies.

EDIT: Hope they do go back to oldies, these days games are either really violent, annoying puzzles, really really cruddy, or really for young children and the classic spyro was for about late childhood to young teens and up! AHT had a total clinche storyline, while ETD was around for same age group as classics, it needs a redo. TLoS just didn't have the Spyro feel for me, he's changed so very much these days but I preferred the non combat Spyro where you could kill enemies with a simple flame or techniques for bosses.

I don't care... as long as the game doesn't come at least until 2010, so Sierra has a lot of time to make it super duper long! <.<;

My wish list?

That they learn from both the old games and new games.

In short, continue the LoS storyline but add more old characters, develop Spyro and Cynder further, and most of all... the gameplay.

Open-ended stages with objectives like in the older games and have the game actually LONG, like it used to be. Keep the new fighting system and improve upon it.

Improve the cooperative play style or have two storyline modes (one for Spyro, one for Cynder). Remove flight and put back the emphasis on platforming.

More boss fights, remove infinite lives (have one life like in Zelda or limited lives like in the old games. Quit it with the "can't ever lose" stuff!).

In short... the improved combat and story of LoS mixed to the vast, open-ended stages and platforming goodness of the old games.

That is what I wish for. A game that finally fully honor the old Spyro games while capitalizing on the changes and improvements brought up in the LoS trilogy.

Whenever or not we get such a game... is up to whoever will develop the license next (if it's a different company).

Didn't Sierra already said after DotD, more games following it will be released? I would'nt really think Activision will reboot again.

I really hope they will continue DOTD that will be my dream come true! Or, they might continue AHT, or something... hey u know when Crash was in the ice in TEN will Crash get out of their? just wondering.....

Yeah, I'm sure they'll get off on what happened on DotD. Maybe Activision never heard of AHT.

I think they should make ONE more TLOS game after DOTD. You can still have free flight and you can explore a bit more! It should be like DOTD were there is lest combat. The combat was fine in DOTD. It wasn't like ANB and TEN when you smash the 'O' button every second. They should bring more FEMALE charactors into the story. Maby about 4 years has past or somthing. And a dragon that is related to Malefor is really angry at Spyro and trys to get his revange on Spyro. And he also turns Cynder evil again . But I still want the co-up player though... so I don't really know how that will work... Oh, and after this game, they should go back to the origanals. I'm starting to miss them.

They can connect Tlos to originals by this style:

TLOS--->Originals (This mean: Tlos is setted before STD )

To be honest, im not sure what they'll be doing next, but it's always good to wait and see the surprises stored ahead of us....

I would have actually LOVED to see flame in the new games, that would have been awesome

I will be happy if I will saw my loved Ember, hurted. Along with Cynder... And Flame with are only two what rescue them... Then, we will have 4 charcters to play, when boys saves girls. Thye all will have unique abilitties, (lets say:
Ember:
elements: plant(sharp rose/[insert flower here] petals), snow(have diferent uses than ice), light

Flame:
elements: fire, steel, water(combine with Spyro's ice and Ember's snow, and....brrrrr....(I don't know how to say EN interjection for coldness, so, I used CZ one))).

Then ignitus announces that the DM has risen agian and spyro, his new friends, and his old friends get together and defeat malefor.
