I've picked up my kids Trap Team for Christmas and have been slowly buying more figures/traps. The one thing I can't figure out is how trap team handles traps if you have multiple people playing the game or even multiple saves for that matter. How exactly does that work with traps??

Basically, each save file holds the villains you've captured, and each trap holds one villain. When you 'trap' a villain, it just changes which villain is currently stored in the trap, independently of the save file, so you can use that villain in, say, another file that's right at the beginning.
If you're planning on having your kids share the traps and, say, they each have their own save file, they can just put what villain they want into the trap when it's their turn to play, from the Villain Vault in the hub.

If you mean when two people are playing at the same time then it is a first come first serve basis. There is a dedicated button which switches the villain in, and the timer means that one player can't be villain constantly.
Works really well and encourages teamwork as both players end up discussing who should be the villain (usually the one with the lowest health). I play with my eight year old son and I must say it's made it much more enjoyable this time round. Edit: tried to explain the mechanics just in case |
