I'd like to know: is this game worth getting?

My questions (please answer )

Is the gameplay better?
Do the figures look better?
How much better are the Trap characters than the cores?
How big are the Trap Characters?
How high does the skill level go?
Is the story better?
How fun are the villians?
Are Villian Traps worth getting?
How much better is this game overall than Swap Force?

I already think I should really get it, but I want to hear from you guys, so please answer. Thanks!

Trap Team feels more standalone, like you're not going to be punished for not having older figures, though you do still get perks, they're less substantial.
Gameplay's about the same as Swap Force, oh god yes jumping.

I find the Trap Masters a little, bulky at times, not quite Giants bulky but bigger than others.
The level cap is still 20, so no dragging out your older figures unless you want to play as them.
Better story? Hard to say, it's still enjoyable but I admit it's going to be subjective.

The villains are REALLY fun, and while some are stronger than others, they give a nice switch of pace in gameplay, at worst they can act as damage sponges or meat shields.
Traps aren't really essential, each Trap holds one villain at any given time, but with a trap of each element, you can capture and play as EVERY villain, you'll only need multiple if you want to hold more than one villain of each element, and whatever designs you like.

As for better than Swap Force? No Rufus, 'nuff said.

I'd say that the gameplay (platforming aside) is more similar to Giants or SA, with all those puzzles and "minigames".

The game is ABSOLUTELY worth getting.

Story's a lot better. New characters and twists. Still the villians ate still painfully stupid in the fact most the things they do has no motivation except for EVIL. And money. Gameplay-wise the enemies are really easy for a fully upgraded skylanders to defeat so fighting isn't as substantial but still REALLY satisfying like Giants and SSA. I'd say the villian traps are worth getting but not as a priority. I'd say you'd be fine with two or three. Figures aren't a world better than Swap Force but the paint jobs are a lot more pollished. Trap Master characters are worth the extra money but still, The cores won't dissapoint, in fact most of them are better than the best of Swap Force, and while the the Trap Masters are more powerful, and the translucent weapons are beautifully detailed, the cores have a lot more personality. Villians all are pretty powerful and the ones that aren't are still useful. Plus they don't take damage. Also puzzles are more repetitive and aren't as polished as Swap Force. Also the graphics aren't that awesome. You don't see that many visually stunning levels like Boney Islands, Cascade Glade, and Iron Jaw Gulch from Swap Force. In fact most the levels are dark and moody and not as fun as Swap Force. But over time you start to love the new art stylebook as well as the game as a whole. So in the end its totally worth the money but give it some time before you put it on the shelf, at first it feels like a downgrade to Swap Force but after you upgrade the characters, and mess around you learn to love the game. So I'd totally say get it.

1. Giants (Magical feeling levels, characters have personality, customizable hub that feels like you're building a community)
2. Trap Team (Plenty characters, Jumping, close 2nd, just too many dark, moody levels)
3. Swap Force (Beautiful graphics, and Swapping was really awesome)
4. Spyros Adventure (Laggy, one dimensional characters, uninspired levels)

I enjoy them all though, but that would probably be my ranking. LOVE the new game despite the glitches.

Do you like Skylanders? Then you want to get the game.

From my experience :

The gameplay is quite better with the vilains mecannic. In Coop, it's sometime annoying because we can't go too far from the other player.

The figs look better but the gameplay is not necessarily interesting. I felt unhappy with funny bones for instance.

The trap masters are quite good but slow and sometime very basic.

The story mode is different from the other episodes in some ways but absolutely not mature. (bad vs good)

The vilains are very funny and totally playable exept few ones.

Getting at least one trap by elements is almost an obligation to really appreciate the gimmick.

Stangely I prefer way much swap force than this one, but if I had my PVP, personnal quest, a score attack mode,
I would defend this game to the death....but no, for me it's just decent for the amount of money asked.

Trap Team is a Skylanders game, and a good one.

one thing i can say about trap team and what i like very much. is that you can skip the chit chat asap, with a press of a button. so no rufus nightmare in this game.

Thanks guys. I think now from the feedback I'll get the starter pack, maybe half of the new characters, and a Trap for each element.

Now, sorry if I bother, but what are y'all's top 5's? Any characters reccomended that you'd think I like?

Simple answer.. If you like skylanders, then yes, I feel it's the best to date! And my 4 minions agree, lol!

I'd say get it! I love the game, but it has flaws.

Pros:

Greats levels

Great hub

Good story

New Skylanders and Villains are fun.

Cons

Can get repetitive.
