Aliens look cooler, they're like giant killer alien velociraptors.

movie-wise? alien, aliens, and predator are 1, 2, and 3 the best in that order.

species-wise? Not even a contest; aliens are the perfect organism, they were designed that way. Predators have all kinds of future-tech, but choose to hunt dangerous prey and collect skull-spines like neanderthal troglodytes instead of inventing the NFL like everyone else.

the alien was created by a swiss surrealist obsessed with the birds and the bees, while predator was created by two brothers (one a high school math teacher) from jersey who wrote bad movies. YMMV.
