In praise of the Wii version

I had posted earlier about my frustration with the Wii version freezing. However, after numerous more hours playing and only ever encountering freezes twice, I have to say this:

This is the single best example of technological advancement on the Wii. The graphics are so good they have no place on an 8 year old system. There are no load times. The sound is excellent, as is the play control. Draw-in distance is forever. This is probably the best swan-song the Wii could have. Kudos, TfB.

I think my immediate frustration to the freezing was due to the fact the SSF was so incredibly poorly made. Horrible graphics, mid-level loads, game-destroying freezing, just a really terrible game in terms of technological ability. I basically bought TT expecting the same, and when the freeze happened I thought, "Yep. Here we go again." But I was wrong.

If, like me, you have decided that the Wii is your last system you are buying, this is the best way to enjoy the little-white box before it becomes entirely obsolete.

Go now. Buy this game.

My only question is how this version of Skylanders can be so light-years ahead of SSF.....

Could not agree more bounce pad. I was incredibly scared to spend 80 dollars on a repeat of swap force but this was a pleasant surprise.

I wish there was gameplay video from the Wii to look at. TfB basically compromises next gen for Wii and older systems, and VV basically goes all out as far as the tech can help them. It's interesting to see both of their stances, and I suspect this is aided by the slippage of sales on Swap Force due to poor attention to the Wii and older systems because folks have not made that "next gen" leap.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.
